Railway Protection Force of Northern Railway apprehends and prosecutes Touts


The Railway Protection Force(RPF) of Northern Railway has special squads over Headquarter and Divisional levels to conduct drive against offenders found involved in illegal business of sale & purchase of railway tickets and canvassing & against offences like illegal hawking & begging in railway premises.

During the intensive checks against touts carried out from 03.7.2012 to 05.7.2012. Railway Protection Force apprehended 13 touts which include 4 touts in Delhi area, 3 in Moradabad, 1 in Lucknow, 2 in Delhi Area & 2 in Firozepur&3 in Ambala Divisions under section 143 of Indian Railway Act.

Today, a special team of Ambala Division headed by Sh. Sukhdev Raj, Inspector/RPF/Patiala arrested 03 persons from PRS, Dharampur, Himachal Railway Station and recovered 04 Tatkal tickets booked in different names & destinations .During interrogation of three accused the connivance and involvement of Sh. Vimal Kumar, Reservation Clerk, Dharampuralso came into light. A case vide Crime No. 320/12 U/S 143 Rly. Act on 05.7.2012 against 03 offenders and one Reservation ClerkSh. Vimal Kumar has been registered at RPF Post Kalka. All accused including Vimal Kumar have been arrested. One tout of 3 arrested on Moradabad Division has been fined with Rs. 10000/- and rest all are under trial.
