Salient Features of Southern Zone Public Time Table - July 2012 Issue


The release of new Railway Time Table every year is an event, eagerly awaited by the travelling Public. Shri G.N.Asthana, General Manager, South Central Railway has released the Southern Zone Time Table today i.e 30th June 2012 at Rail Nilayam conference hall. This Time Table, which was got designed and printed by South Central Railway, provides detailed timings o­n all the Train services run o­n South Central, Southern , South Western and Konkan Railways.
The layout of this issue has been designed with care to enable easyreference and access to the required information o­n various Passenger Services. The data has been presented colorfullyin an eye-pleasingmanner with maps and tables to enhance the readability. This Southern Zone Time tablecan serve as a o­ne-stop guide for all the information needs of Rail Passengers in planning their journey.
This new Time Table, which comes into effect from 01st July, offers much cheer for the Passengers of South Central Railway . 15 of the 75 new Mail/Express Trains announced in the Railway Budget-2012-13 will originate from S.C.Railway and another 10 would pass through this Railway.Thus, 1/3rd of the total Mail/Express trains to be introduced during the FY 2012-13 would be available for the Passengers ofS.C.Railway. Allotment of such high percentage of trains for SCR has never been done in the past. These trains will be introduced in a phased manner in the current Financial Year.

Apart from New Train Services, this Time Table features the extension of 3 Originating Trains and 1 pass through Train and increase in frequency of 8 Originating / Terminating Trains and 4 pass through Trains over SCR.There will be change in the Days of operation for 5 Weekly Trains o­n SCR.
Changes in the present schedule of timings have been effected in respect of 4of the SCR's trains, viz.,i) Tr. No 17429 Hyderabad- Tirupathi Rayalaseema Express ii) Tr. No 12485 Nanded- Shri Ganga Sagar Express, iii) Tr. No 12732 Secunderabad - Tirupathi Express and iv) Tr. No 17415 Tirupathi - Kolhapur Haripriya Express.

12 Trains have been speeded up by reducing their travel time ranging from 10 minutes to 80 minutes.Arrival / Departure Timings of some of the Trains at individual Stations have been changed in 12 cases

Change of terminal has been effected from the present Secunderabad to Kachegudafor 2 Trainsviz., - i)Tr. No 57426 Guntakal - Secunderabad Passenger andii) Tr. No 57473 Secunderabad - Bodhan Passenger.
Train Numbers of 4 Originating / Terminating Express Trains and 14 Express Trains passing through SCR have also been changed with effect from various dates in August and October.
