T.No.09013 Bandra Terminus – Velankanni Special will leave Bandra Terminus 23.55 hrs. on 27.8.2013, leave Katpadi at 04.15 hrs. on 29.8.2013 and arrive Velankanni at 12.30 hrs. on 29.8.2013.
T.No.09014 Velankanni – Bandra Terminus Special will leave Velankanni at 17.00 hrs. on 29.8.2013, leave Katpadi at 03.00 hrs. on 30.8.2013 and arrive Bandra Terminus at 07.35 hrs. on 31.8.2013.

            These  additional 32 AC II Tier coaches  will make available 1472 additional AC II Tier berths, 63 additional AC III Tier coaches will make available 4032 additional AC III Tier berths and 62 additional Sleeper Class Coaches will make available 4464 additional Sleeper Class Berths.

 In all, 10,000 additional berths will be made available by these 157 additional coaches to cater to the extra rush of passengers.

Secunderabad Station Gets the Distinction of Being the First Major Station on Indian Railways to have Escalators on all of its 10 Platforms and Lifts on Platforms at Both the Main Entrances

With the recent commissioning of the 7th Escalator o­n Platform No. 4&5 and of two Lifts- o­ne each  o­n Platform No.1 and 10 - in the second week  of August, 2013, Secunderabad Railway Station has emerged as the first major Railway Station o­n Indian Railways to be equipped with Escalators o­n all of its 10 Platforms  and Lifts o­n both the main Platforms at entrances. South Central Railway has spent Rs. 6.6 Cr., which include the cost of Escalators, Civil Engineering works and  Electrical Power supply arrangements etc.,  towards setting up of seven Escalators at Secunderabad. With these arrangements, the facility of Escalator is made available o­n all the 10 Platforms at Secunderabad Station. 
In addition to the seven Escalators,  two Lifts - o­ne each o­n Platform No. 1 and 10, which are situated o­n the two main entrances / exits of the Station, have also been installed and commissioned at a cost of Rs. 98 Lakh in the second week of August, 2013.
Each of the Lifts is capable to carry 20 persons at a time. The rated carrying capacity of each of the Escalators is 180 persons per minute. It is estimated that around 43,000 passengers o­n an average per day  are using these Escalators.
These Escalators and Lifts facilitate easy and quick movement of passengers, especially the elderly, sick, and  physically challenged persons etc., from o­ne platform to other. With seven Escalators and two Lifts, Secunderabad Station wears a modern look and offers enhanced passenger comfort.

          For the convenience of rail passengers, Railway has decided to provide additional stoppage to train no. 14705/14706 Delhi Sarai Rohilla- Sadulpur- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Daily Express train at Rampura Beri from 15.08.2013 to 14.02.2014 o­n experimental basis for six months in both the directions.

          The 14705 Delhi Sarai Rohilla- Sadulpur Daily Express train will reach at Rampura Beri at 10.34 a.m. while in the return direction, the 14706 Sadulpur -Delhi Sarai Rohilla Daily Express train will reach at Rampura Beri at 06.18 p.m. with two minutes stoppage in both the directions.

South Central Railway will change the terminal station of Sirpurkaghaznagar-Hyderabad Express and originating Station of  Hyderabad-Bidar Express with effect from 15th August, 2013 as detailed below:-

1) Train No. 17012 Sirpurkaghaznagar-Hyderabad Express will terminate at Secunderabad  instead of Hyderabad. This  train  departs Sirpurkaghaznagar at 11 00 hrs and arrives Secunderabad at 17 00 hrs o­n the same day.

2) Train No. 17010 Hyderabad-Bidar Express will depart from Secunderabad  instead of Hyderabad..  Accordingly, Tr. No. 17010 Secunderabad-Bidar Express will depart Secunderabad at 17 30 hrs and arrive Bidar at 21 15 hrs o­n the same day. In the return direction, Tr. No. 17009 Bidar-Hyderabad Express will terminate at Hyderabad as at present.

Changed Location Of Ladies Coach For Trains Running On Line-5 (MUNDKA –INDERLOK/KIRTINAGAR) to Facilitate Boarding & Alighting Of Ladies.

1. Lady passengers boarding Metro trains from Inderlok/Kirti Nagar towards Mundka are advised that the last coach will be the ladies coach.

2. Lady passengers travelling from Mundka towards Inderlok/Kirti Nagar should note that first coach will continue to be the reserved coach for ladies as before.

3. For this, announcements will be made inside the trains running on this route and also at stations and guards will be deployed at platforms of this line to guide the passengers for initial period.

4. This step is being taken to ensure ‘Ladies in and Ladies out’ from the same coach and to avoid inconvenience to women passengers who had to, otherwise face difficulties in de-boarding at interchange stations of Inderlok and Kirti Nagar.

5. In addition, DMRC will make all required arrangements for Metro passengers to ensure smooth transition of this new arrangement including proper positioning of the ladies coach at the station platform etc.

6. DMRC has already implemented the same mechanism on Line-6 (Central Secretariat – Badarpur) from 16th February 2013 and the experiment has been very well appreciated by women commuters.

7. The provision of First Coach of every train reserved as ‘Ladies only coach’ will remain unchanged on rest of the lines of the Delhi Metro i.e, Line-1, 2, 3 and 4.

SCR REVISES TIMINGS OF TRAIN NOs.12735/12736 SECUNDERABAD-YESVATPUR-SECUNDERABAD GARIBRATH EXPRESS ANDPROVISION OF STOPPAGE AT LINGAMPALLI STATION
As communicated by South Central Railway(SCR) and Railway Board, the timings of Train Nos.12735/12736 SECUNDERABAD-YESVANTPUR-SECUNDERABAD GARIBRATH EXPRESS will be revised with effect from 24th September, 2013 from SECUNDERABADend and from 25th September, 2013 from YESVANTPUR.


Consequent upon revision in timings, two minutes stoppage at LINGAMPALLI for Train Nos.12735/12736 Secunderabad-Yesvantpur-Secunderabad Garibrath Express will be provided.

The revised timings with effect from 24th Sept.13 from Secunderabad and from 25th Sept.2013 from Yesvantpur, are as follows:--There is no change in days of service.

NEW TRAIN BETWEEN MARIKUPPAM AND BANGALORE FLAGGED OFF BY Shri MALLIKARJUN KHARGE UNION MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AT MARIKUPPAM

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, today(10thAugust, 2013) flagged off a new train between Marikuppam and Bangalore City at Marikuppam Railway Station, in the august Presence ofShri K H Muniyapa, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises.

 Smt. Y Ramakka, MLA, KGF, Shri K M Narayanaswamy, MLA, Bangarpet, Shri Naseer Ahmed, MLC, Shri D.H. Veeraiah, MLC were present o­n the occasion.

 Speaking o­n the occasion, Sri Mallikarjuna Kharge said that the new train between Marikuppam-Bangalore has fulfilled the long time aspiration of the local people.He said, to meet the demands of the people of Kolar Gold Field, DEMUs (Diesel Electrical Multiple Units) and MEMUS (Main Line Electrical Multiple Units) running between Marikuppam and Bangalore City will be replaced o­n first priority by fullfledged trains with 21 coaches, o­n getting new rakes.

 Shri Kharge said, after his taking over as Railway Minister, an additional amount of Rs.300 Crs., has been sanctioned for the Railway Projects in the State, which is 45% more than the amount sanctioned previously to South Western Railway for its projects in the current budget.

 The State Government had promised to provide Rs.271 Cr in the current year for the Railway Projects in the State. During the past four months, ithas released o­nly Rs.30 crores, and balance amount is due. He insisted that the State has to expedite release of its share of money and speed up acquisition of land for faster completion of all pending Railway projects in the state.

Regarding Kolar-Chikballapur Railway Line doubling work, the Minister said there are certain small hurdles that State Government has to clear. If this is done, the project can be commissioned within a record time.

 Shri Kharge said, there are 368 Railway Projects to be cleared in the country out of which 178 are new projects. Rs.1,78,000 Crs.are needed to complete all these projects.He said, instead of announcing new projects, the completion of existing projects will benefit the people and for this, the State Governments and the public should co-operate.He said many of the schemes brought out by the government are for the poor and benefiting all class of people across the country.

Regarding commissioning of new line between Kuppam and Marikuppam, Shri Kharge said, 6 Kms of land has to be given by Karnataka and 13 Kms by Andhra Pradesh.Work can be started if the respective governments give land to railways.

Shri K. H. Muniyappa, Union Minister of State for Micro, Medium and Small Industries said, Supreme Court has up-held the Cabinet Decision of re-starting the Bharat Gold Mines.The decision will benefit thousands of workers.Suitable conditionsto benefit the workers will be incorporated in the Global Tender to be invited for starting the Mine.The highest bidder will be asked to settle the benefits and dues payable for the workers before starting the mine, he said.
He announced to sanction Rs.40 lakhs for opening two new halt stations at Chinna Kote and Khidu Kuda out of which Rs. 20 lakhs will be from his MP fund and 20 lakhs will be from the MLA fund of Shri Naseer Ahmed.

 In a major step towards tackling the issue of overcrowding in the trains, DMRC will also introduce the first ever eight coach train on line ¾ (Dwarka Sector 21 – NOIDA City Centre/ Vaishali) by end of this month. Two eight coach trains are currently being tested for commissioning into services.
24eight coach trains are currently running on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri – HUDA City Centre) after the introduction of the first such train on 24th December last year. A total of 68 trains are being converted to eight coaches. The present break up of four, eight and six coach trains on the Delhi Metro network as per time table is as follows:

Due to replacement of Bridge No. 151 & 153 simultaneously between Sakhoti Tanda- Khatauli stations, there will be single Mega traffic block each of 5 hrs. and 4.40 hrs. from 10.45 p.m. o­n 14.08.2013 to 03.45 a.m. & 03.25 a.m. respectively o­n 15.08.2013 over Ghaziabad- Meerut City- Saharanpur Section of Delhi Division. During the period of traffic blocks o­n 14/15.08.2013, the following trains will be diverted/regulated as under:

·The 12205 New Delhi- Dehradun A.C. Express train will be diverted to run via Tilak Bridge- Delhi Shahadra- Shamli- Tapri.

·The 12206 Dehradun- New Delhi A.C. Express train will be regulated for 30 minutes at Muzaffarnagar.

There will be two traffic blocks of 7 hrs. each o­n 16/17.08.2013 & 17/18.08.2013  from 10.30 p.m. to 05.30 a.m. for replacement of girders of Bridge No. 14 between Tilak Bridge- Hazrat Nizamuddin stations of Delhi Division. The movement of trains will not be affected during the block period.

Twenty five percent of the STD/ISD/PCO booths at railway stations over Indian Railways are already reserved for differently-abled persons. The allotment of the STD/PCO booths at stations is done through a transparent open-tender/screening committee process after issuing notifications in the Press. The applications received in response to the press notifications are decided accordingly.

In order to enhance the viability of STD/PCO booths, the existing STD/PCO booth holders have been permitted to sell mobile phone recharge coupons, new SIM cards (new connections), mobile phones and related accessories on payment of flat additional license fee for each additional item.

A pilot project of ticketing through non-internet based mobile phones has been launched by IRCTC on Ist July 2013.  The salient features of the scheme are as follows:-
·        There is no need of internet at any stage, viz. booking, payment, cancellation etc.
·        The user gets ticket details Short Messaging Service (SMS) instantly.
·        SMS along with Photo Identity Card in original can be used to travel, no printout of the ticket is required.

          The steps taken to popularize the booking of tickets through non-internet based mobile phones through SMS mode are as follows:
·        Publication in leading newspapers.
·        Distribution of brochures about SMS booking.
·        Sending details of the scheme through e-mail to all registered users of IRCTC.
·        Display of message on the website of IRCTC.

Pankaj, Chief Workshop Manager of Carriage Repair Workshop informed that Mancheswar Workshop is planning to celebrate its completion of 30 years production in December 2013 with lot of festivities and record outturn. This Workshop is also planning to get ISO 14000 for Environment Management System and ISO 18000 certification for Occupational Health & Safety System by December 2013.

In the recent days, Mancheswar workshop has created new milestone of productivity and quality, bringing happiness to the entire Railway fraternity. In the just concluded month of July, Mancheswar Workshop has achieved highest ever outturn of 145 coaches. It also achieved a production of 1001 wheels in the Wheel Shop which is another milestone.

Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop also started Green Drive o­n this occasion by launching tree plantation inside Mancheswar Workshop.

NEW DIVISIONAL RAILWAY MANAGER OF SAMBALPUR DIVISION

Shri Debaraj Panda, an officer of 1985 batch of the Indian Railway Traffic Service has joined as New Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway.


Prior to this new posting Shri Panda was serving as Chief Freight Transportation Manager (CFTM) of East Coast Railway at Bhubaneswar.


Shri Panda, a Post Graduate in Economics from JNU, joined Indian Railways in 1987.
Thereafter, he has worked in various important capacities in Adra, Waltair and Khurda divisions of South Eastern Railway and East Coast Railway. He worked as Chief Vigilance officer in East Coast Railway Head quarters office. He also served in IRCTC as Group General Manager at Kolkata and as Chief Passenger Transportation Manager (CPTM) of East Coast Railway head quarters office.

Apart from the above, he has also undergone training in strategic Management at Paris and Johannesburg.

REGULATION OF TRAINS DUE TO PRE-NON-INTERLOCKING & NON-INTERLOCKING IN CONNECTION WITH GORAKHPUR YARD REMODELLING BY NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY
 North Eastern Railway(NER) has advised this railway that, due to Pre Non-interlocking and Non-interlocking working in connection with Gorakhpur Yard remodelling from 26th Sept.13 to 02nd Oct. 2013 and Non-interlocking from 03rd to 06th Oct.2013 involving Traffic block of 03-00 hrs. followed by 72 hours Non-interlocking working and 06-00 hrs. testing block), the following trains will be short terminated

SHORT TERMINATION:--

1.Train No.15024 Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur Express leaving YESVANTPUR station on 26th Sept.,2013will be terminated at LUCKNOW Jn.instead of Gorakhpur.

2.Train No.15024 Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur Express leaving YESVANTPUR on 03rd October, 2013will be terminated at KHALILABAD instead of Gorakhpur.

Central Railway will operate Mega Block o­n its suburban sections for carrying out maintenance work o­n Sunday 11.8.2013.

1)  o­n DN FAST LINE BETWEEN THAN AND KALYAN STATIONS

    FROM 10.00 AM TO 3.30 PM.

Dn fast line services leaving Thane from 9.04 am to 2.51 pm will be diverted o­n Dn Slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations and will halt at all stations between Thane and Kalyan. These locals will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.

UP fast line services leaving Thane station from 10.50 am to 3.43 pm will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their scheduled halts and arrive their destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

All slow suburban services arriving & leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm will arrive their destination 10 minutes behind schedule.

     

2)  o­n UP AND DN LINES BETWEEN KALYAN AND AMBERNATH STATIONS

    FROM 2.00 PM TO 3.30 PM.

   

Dn line services leaving Kalyan from 1.32 pm to 3.17 pm and Up line services leaving Badlapur from 1.49 pm to 3.22 pm will remain suspended between Kalyan and Badlapur stations. However, Shuttle services will be run between Badlapur and Karjat during the block period.

 

3) DN HARBOUR LINE BETWEEN CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS AND KURLA &

   UP AND DN HARBOUR LINES BETWEEN VADALA ROAD AND BANDRA STATIONS

   FROM 11.10 AM TO 3.10 PM.

Dn Harbour line services to Bandra/Andheri leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 10.48 am to 3.33 pm and Up Harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus leaving Bandra /Andheri from 10.40 am to 3.45 pm will remain suspended.

     

Dn Harbour line services for Panvel / Belapur/Vashi leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from 10.52 am to 3.13 pm will run via main line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Kurla further will be diverted o­n Dn Harbour line. These trains will not halt at Chinchpokli and Currey Road stations.

Harbour line passengers for Bandra/ Andheri are permitted to travel Via Main line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm o­n 11.8.2013.

All Up and Dn Harbour line services leaving and arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus between 11.00 am and 4.30 pm will arrive destination about 10 minutes behind schedule.

As a result of this, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling o­n foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains.

01001 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1.00 hrs o­n Friday 9.8.2013 (night of 8/9.8.2013 Thursday/Friday) and will reach Madgaon at 14.10 hrs same day.

01002 Special will leave Madgaon at 14.40 hrs o­n Friday 9.8.2013 and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 4.10 hrs next day.

(B) 01005/01006 LOKMANYA TILAK TERMINUS – MADGAON SPECIALS

01005 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1.00 hrs o­n Thursday 15.8.2013 (night of 14/15.8.2013 Wednesday/Thursday) and will reach Madgaon at 14.10 hrs same day.

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to extend the Train No. 12450 / 12449 Hazrat Nizamuddin - Madgaon 'Goa' Sampark Kranti Express (bi-weekly) upto Chandigarh.

Train no.12450 Chandigarh-  Madgaon 'Gao' Sampark Kranti Exp will leave from Chandigarh at 01:30 hrs on Monday and Saturday and reach Madgaon at 1500 hrs on Tuesday and Sunday respectively. The extension is effective from 5th August, 2013.

Train no.12449 Madgaon- Chandigarh Exp will leave from Madgaon at 1225 hrs on Tuesday and Wednesday and reach Chandigarh at 05:20 hrs on Thursday and Friday respectively. The extension is effective from 6th August, 2013.

1)Aurangabad-Tirupati-Aurangabad  Special Trains( 10 services):

Train No. 07405 Aurangabad-Tirupati Special Train will depart Aurangabad at 18 40 hrs o­n 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August, 2013 (Fridays) and arrive Tirupati at 19 00 hrs o­n the next day.

 In the return direction, Train No.07406 Tirupati-Aurangabad Special train will depart Tirupati at 21 15 hrs o­n 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st August, 2013 (Saturdays) and arrive Aurangabad at 20 30 hrs o­n the next day.

 Enroute, these special trains will stop at Jalna, Parbhani, Purna, Nanded, Mudhked, Basar, Nizambad, Kamareddi, Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Srikalahasti and Renigunta

      In the return direction, Train No. 07605 Mangalore-Kachiguda Special Train will depart Mangalore at 20 00 hrs on Wednesday ie., o­n 7th, 14th, 21st and 28thAugust, 2013 and arrive Kacheguda at 03 40 hrs o­n Fridays.

‍For the convenience of the rail passengers and to increase the passenger carrying capacity of trains, Railway has decided to extend the augmentation of the train nos. 15707/15708 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Express, 22811/22812 and 22823/22824 Bhubaneswar- New Delhi-Bhubaneswar RajdhaniExpress trains on temporary basis as per the under-mentionedprogramme:-

·The 15707/15708 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Express train has been augmented by One additional General Second Class Coach from 01.08.2013 to 30.09.2013 when departing from Katihar and from 04.08.2013 to 03.10.2013 when departing from Amritsar. The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.
·The 22811/22812 and 22823/22824 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar RajdhaniExpress trains have been augmented by One additional A.C.2 Tier and Threeadditional A.C.3 Tier Coaches each from 01.08.2013 to 31.08.2013 when departing from Bhubaneswar and from 02.08.2013 to 01.09.2013 when departing from New Delhi. The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF REWA EXPRESS TRAIN

The 12428/12427 Anand Vihar T.- Rewa- Anand Vihar T. Express train will be augmented permanently by One additional First A.C. cum A.C.2 Tier Coach from 01.08.2013 when departing from Anand Vihar T. and from 02.08.2013 when departing from Rewa. The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.

           Similarly, in return direction train No.09010 Madgaon – Bandra(T) Special Train will leave Madgaon at 20.00 hrs o­n every Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 2nd September to 21stSeptember, 2013. It will arrive at Bandra(T) at 13.20 hrs, the next day.

           The train will halt at Andheri, Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali stations in both directions.

           The train will have AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper class and II class general coaches.



Ahmedabad – Madgaon Special Train (via Vasai Road)



Train No.09416 Ahmedabad–Madgaon Special Train will leave Ahmedabad at 16.55 hrs o­n every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from 2nd September to 21st September, 2013. It will arrive at Vasai Rdat 00.40 hrs next day and reach Madgaon at 16.30 hrs.

           Similarly, in return direction train No.09415 Madgaon – Ahmedabad Special Train will leave Madgaon at 20.00 hrs o­n every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday from 3rd September to 22nd September, 2013.It will arrive at Vasai Rd at 10.40 hrs next day and reach Ahmedabad at 19.20 hrs.



The train will halt at Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari,Valsad, Vapi, Dahanu Road, Boisar, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali stations in both directions.
