CLOSURE OF COMPUTERISED PASSENGER RESERVATION CENTRES ON HOLI FESTIVAL

On the occasion of Holi Festival o­n 06.3.2015the computerized passenger centres in Delhi area willremain closed/partially closed/ workas per the programme:-
            A skeleton service will be available in morning shift at IRCA Reservation Complex, New Delhi, Delhi Jn. and  Hazrat Nizamuddin Reservation Office from 08.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.  All counters will remain open in the evening shift i.e. from 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
However, current reservation counters will work as usual at Delhi, New Delhi & Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar T., Delhi Cantt. & Meerut City stations.
            The Sahibabad, New Ghaziabad, Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Okhla, Karkardooma, NOIDA,  Delhi Shahdara, Adarsh Nagar,  Ghaziabad, Naya Azadpur, Subzi Mandi, Kirti Nagar,  Tuglakabad, Shakur Basti, Rohini, AIIMS,  International Tourist Bureau,  Gurgaon, Palam, Delhi Cantt.,  Delhi Sarai Rohilla,  Faridabad, Ballabhgarh,  Palwal,  Narela, Sonepat,  Panipat,  Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal,  Jind, Mansa, Rohtak,  Bahadurgarh,  Nangloi, Shamli,  Muradnagar,  Modinagar,  Meerut City, Meerut Cantt., Muzaffarnagar, Deoband,  Mansa, Kaithal,  Gohana, Jhajhar, Greater Noida, Mahem Town, Baraut, Mini Secretariat, Ganaur, Shahbad Markanda and  Indira Gandhi International Airport Computerized Reservation Office will remain ‘CLOSED”  in morning shift i.e. from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. These centres will work as usual in the evening shift i.e. from 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
            The Parliament House, Press Club of India, Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, Delhi University, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Tis Hazari Court, Kashmere Gate & IIT Reservation Office will remain “CLOSED”  for  the whole day.

Train services in city to be affected due to Metro Rail Crossing Works Tomorrow


In order to facilitate Metro Rail crossing works over the SCR Rail track network between Bharatnagar and Sanathnagar Stations in twin cities, traffic block will be imposed o­n train movements in this section from 12:15 pm to 03:15 pm o­n 28thFebruary, 2015 leading to cancellation/ partial cancellation and re-scheduling of several train services including MMTS services as detailed below.
 I) Cancellation:

1. MMTS services (*20 services – Details are enclosed in next page):
a)  All the 18 MMTS services which run to and from Lingamapalli between 12.15 pm to 3.15 pm are cancelled.
b)  Train No. 47185 Lingampalli – Falaknuma MMTS is cancelled
c)  Train No. 47115 Hyderabad – Lingampalli MMTS is cancelled
2. Passenger Trains (4 services)
a)  Train No. 57606 Vikarabad – Kacheguda  Passenger is cancelled
b) Train No. 57518 Tandur – Hyderabad  Passenger is cancelled
c)  Train No. 57517 Hyderabad – Tandur Passenger is cancelled
d) Train No. 57605 Secunderabad – Vikarabad  Passenger is cancelled
II) Partial Cancellation:
a)  Train No. 47200 Falaknuma – Hyderabad MMTS service will be partially cancelled between Secunderabad and Hyderabad.
b) Train No. 12025/12026 Pune – Secunderabad – Pune Shatabdi Express will be partially cancelled between Lingampalli and Secunderabad. The train will terminate and originate from Lingampalli instead of Secunderabad, as per the scheduled timings at Lingampalli.
III) Re-scheduled:
a) Train No. 12748 Vikarabad – Guntur  Palanadu Express, which departs Vikarabad at 01.45 pm is re-scheduled to depart at 02.30 pm.

In order to clear waitlisted passengers and extra rush of passengers, South Central Railway will temporarily augment the following Trains with additional AC III Tier / AC Chair Car / Sleeper Class/General Second Class Chair Car coaches as detailed below:-
1.Train No. 17256 Hyderabad-Narsapur (Daily) Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach from 1st to 15th March, 2015.

2.Train No. 17255 Narsapur-Hyderabad (Daily) Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach from 2nd to 16th March, 2015.

3.Train No. 17016 Secunderabad-Bhubaneshwar Visakha (Daily) Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach from 1st to 15th March, 2015.

4.Train No. 17015 Bhubaneshwar-Secunderabad Visakha (Daily) Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach from 3rd to 17th March, 2015..

18.Train No. 12748 Vikarabad - Guntur Palnadu Express (Daily) will be augmented with two General Second Chair Car Coaches from 1st to 15th March, 2015.

The augmentation of Coaches will make available around 18080 additional berths/seats (512 AC III Tier berths, 7280 Sleeper Class berths, 6480 AC Chair Car seats and 4320 General Second Chair Car seats) for clearing extra rush and wait listed passengers.

1.Train No. 12764 / 12763 Secunderabad-Tirupati-Secunderabad Padmavathi Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach o­n permanent basis from 28th February, 2015 Ex. Secunderabad and from 1stMarch, 2015 Ex. Tirupati.

 Train No. 12731 / 12732 Secunderabad-Tirupati-Secunderabad Superfast Express will be augmented with o­ne Sleeper Class Coach o­n permanent basis from 3rd March, 2015 Ex. Secunderabad and from 4thMarch, 2015 Ex. Tirupati.

After the augmentation, these trains will have 21 coaches viz., o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, thirteen Sleeper Class, three General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake van Coaches.

In order to clear extra rush of Passengers during the Summer Season, SCR will run thirty four special trains between Kacheguda – Sainagar Shirdi and Secunderabad - Machilipatnam as detailed below:-
1)Kacheguda - Sainagar Shirdi - Kacheguda Special Trains (16 services):-

Train No. 07267 Kacheguda - Sainagar Shirdi Special Train will depart Kacheguda at 10:45 pm, arrive/depart Malkajgiri at 11.10/11.11 pm o­n 7th, 14th, 21st & 28thApril and 5th, 12th, 19th & 26thMay, 2015 (Tuesdays) and arrive Sainagar Shirdi at 12:15 pm o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07268 Sainagar Shirdi – Kacheguda special train will depart Sainagar Shirdi at 07:10 pm o­n 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th April and 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th May, 2015 (Wednesdays), arrive/depart Malkajgiri at 09.05/09.06 am and arrive Kacheguda at 09:35 am o­n the next day.
      Enroute, these special trains will also stop at Kamareddi, Nizamabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nagarsol, Manmad, Kopargaon and Puntamba stations in both directions.
          These special trains will have 18 coaches viz, o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, seven Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

2)Secunderabad – Machilipatnam -Secunderabad Special Trains (18 services):-

Train No. 07050 Secunderabad - Machilipatnam Special Train will depart Secunderabad at 10:30 am o­n 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th April and 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st May, 2015 (Sundays) and arrive Machilipatnam at 07:45 pm o­n the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07049 Machilipatnam - Secunderabad special train will depart Machilipatnam at 09:30 pm o­n o­n 5th, 12th, 19th & 26thApril and 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th& 31st May, 2015 (Sundays)  and arrive Secunderabad at 05:55 am o­n the next day.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Khammam, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Gudlavalleru and Pedana stations in both directions.

UTS on Mobile

 The facility for booking unreserved suburban tickets o­n mobile phones was introduced o­n Southern Railway o­n 15.01.2015 with 5 stations o­n the sub-urban network selected from where journeys can commence.





            With effect from 28.02.2015, 13 more suburban stations will be enabled for this application.  This means that passengers can now book suburban tickets through this application for journeys commencing from any of the 18 stations detailed below.

Train No. 09455 Bandra(T) - Gandhidham Premium Superfast Weekly Special train will depart Bandra(T) at 16:00 hrs o­n every Thursday from 02nd April, 2015 to 16thApril, 2015 and reach Gandhidham at 06.00 hrs the next day.

Similarly, Train No. 09456 Gandhidham – Bandra(T)  Premium Superfast Weekly Special train will depart Gandhidham  at 22.05  hrs  o­n every Wednesday from 01st April, 2015 to 15thApril, 2015 and will arrive Bandra(T) at 11.15  hrs the next day.

          Enroute the train will halt at Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Samakhiali stations in both directions.

Train No. 09411 Ahmedabad - Patna Weekly Superfast Premium Special train will leave from Ahmedabad at 11.50 hrs every Thursday from 02nd April, 2015 to 25th June, 2015 and will reach Patna at 16.10 hrs the next day (Friday).

Similarly, Train No. 09412 Patna - Ahmedabad Weekly Superfast Premium Special train will leave Patna at 20.30 hrs every Friday from 03rd April, 2015 to 26th June, 2015 and will reach Ahmedabad at 01.50 hrs o­n third day (Sunday).

This train will halt at Ratlam, Kota, Kanpur Central, Allahabad and Mughalsarai stations in both directions.

The train will have AC 2 Tier, AC 3 Tier, Second Class Sleeper coaches.

·09421/09422 Ahmedabad – Allahabad – Ahmedabad Weekly Premium Superfast Special Train (Total 26 services)


Train No.09421 Ahmedabad - Allahabad Weekly Premium Superfast Special train will leave Ahmedabad every Sunday at 14.10 hrs to reach Allahabad at 16.40 hrs the next day. This train will run from 05thApril, 2015 to 28th June, 2015.



Similarly, Train No. 09422 Allahabad - Ahmedabad Weekly Premium Superfast Special train will depart Allahabad every Monday at 21.05 hrs to reach Ahmedabad at 23.55 hrs the next day (Tuesday). This train will run from 06th April, 2015 to 29th June, 2015.

The train will halt at Vadodara, Surat, Bhusaval, Jabalpur and Satna stations in both directions.

The train will have AC II tier, AC III tier, Second Class Sleeper Coaches.



Booking for these Premium trains will open 15 days prior to the date of journey as per Advance Reservation period scheduled for Premium trains.

POWER BLOCK AT PALGHAR ON 1ST MARCH, 2015

Similarly, Train No 09006  Gorakhpurr – Bandra Tr. Super fast special train will depart from Gorakhpur at 07.00 hrs o­n 7th  March, 2015 and will reach Bandra Tr. at 17.10   hrs the next day.

To cope with the rush of passengers, Eastern Railway will run o­ne pair of Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Superfast Holi Special leaving Howrah o­n Wednesday (4.3.2015) and New Jalpaiguri o­n Thursday (5.3.2015).

The Up train (03059) will leave Howrah at 23.55 hrs and reach Jalpaiguri at 10.10 hrs o­n the next day. The down train (03060) will leave New Jalpaiguri at 12.35 hrs and will reach at 22.50 hrs o­n the same day.

The train will have General Second class, Sleeper class and Air-conditioned coaches.

To cater to the rush of passengers during ‘Holi’ festival, Eastern Railway will run three pairs of Holi Special trains between Malda and Anand Vihar, leaving Malda o­n 9, 16 & 23 March and leaving Anand Vihar Terminal o­n 10, 17 & 24 March, 2015.

          The Up Special train (03429) will leave Malda at 9:05 hrs and reach Anand Vihar at 14.35 hrs o­n the next day. The Down train (03430) will leave Anand Vihar at 17.10 hrs and will reach Malda at 23.50 hrs o­n the next day.

The Union Railway Budget for 2015-16, which was tabled in the Parliament today, provided proposals for considerable increase in allotment of funds for the projects already sanctioned in Assam and Northeastern region.While presenting the Budget, the Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said that Indian Railways is committed to provide rail connectivity to all the Northeastern States. After Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalya have been brought o­n the railway map of India this year, the Barak Valley would also be brought o­n Broad Gauge by March this year and work for connecting the remaining States of the region is also progressing well.
Special emphasis has been laid for the Doubling of tracks over N. F. Railway. Two new works have been sanctioned - (1) Bongaigaon – Goalpara – Guwahati (176 km) at an estimated cost Rs. 1832 crores & (2) Digaru – Hojai (102km) at an estimated cost of Rs. 946 crores. As the Guwahati – Digaru and Lumding – Hojai Patch Doubling works had already been sanctioned earlier, the sanctioning of the Digaru – Hojai Doubling will ensure double line for the complete Guwahati – Lumding section.
For the three Patch Doubling works already sanctioned in the New Jalpaiguri – New Coochbehar – Samuktala Road section in North Bengal, Rs. 395 crore have been allotted this year.
 The total fund allotment for Doubling works over N. F. Railway is Rs. 509 crores which is 26% more than the allotment made last year.
A total outlay of Rs. 4486 cores have been proposed for the already sanctioned works of construction of New Lines over N. F. Railway which is 9% more than the funds allotted for 2014-15.
An outlay of Rs. 701 cores has been proposed for Bogibeel Bridge project for 2015-16 which is 17% more than the outlay for 2014-15.
A new Goods Terminal Siding has been proposed for Azara at an estimated cost of Rs. 34 cores.
Considering the Safety implications, significant emphasis has been laid o­n manning of Unmanned Level Crossings (UMLCs) in the Budget and a total of 306 UMLCs over N. F. Railway are proposed to be manned. Details of the proposals for N. F. Railway are as under:

One subway in lieu of Level Crossing has been proposed between Kokrajhar – Salakati in Assam.

Flagging off EMU Train No. 64167/64168 Palwal-New Delhi-Aligarh EMU Daily Service by Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar.

Over Delhi Division, Delhi area is a Central hub for Passengers, Goods and Parcel traffic. New Delhi-Palwal section of Delhi Division is a very important section which connects Southern & Western parts of the country. 105 trains consisting of Rajdhani, Duronto, Garib Rath, Shatabdi and long distance trains are passing in each direction daily in New Delhi - Palwal section. In addition to the above, 23 passenger trains are also providing services to the residents of Delh/New Delhi-Palwal section.
Today a new EMU Train No. 64167/64168 from Palwal to Aligarh via New Delhi was flagged off from Palwal by Chief Guest Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar. Hon’ble Member of Parliament/Lok Sabha from South Delhi Shri Ramesh Bidhuri also graced the occasion. Shri Arun Arora Divisional Railway Manager/Delhi and other Senior Railway officials of Delhi Division were also present.
            The64167 Palwal- Aligarh Jn.DailyEMU passenger train will depart from Palwal from 28.02.2015 at 03.50 a.m. to reach Aligarh Jn. at 10.30 a.m. the same day. Hon’ble Minister of State thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Minister of Railways for a very heartening Railway Budget and for the new EMU train service between Palwal and Aligarh. He also announced that benches would be provided from his MPLAD fund at important railway stations of Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency like Faridabad, Palwal and Hodal railway stations. He further said that a generator will be provided at the Palwal Railway station. Hon’ble MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri praised the Railway Budget and said that this new EMU service will be a boon to the daily commuters of Palwal and the enroute stations till Aligarh.
            Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi, Shri Arun Arora said that during the year 2015-2016, am electric substation and LED lighting will be provided at Palwal station. He also said that a new booking office and a new island platform, 1A/1B are to be completed this year. Repair work o­n Platform No. 1/2 and 4/5 will be done in this financial year. Shri P.K. Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway addressed a Press Conference o­n Railway Budget 2015 today i.e. 26th February 2015 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The Press Conference was attended by several Principal Heads of Departments of the Zone.
  Addressing the media present o­n the occasion, Shri P.K. Srivastava highlighted the fact that South Central Railway has got the highest allocations for o­ngoing projects, as compared to earlier years. He stated that :-
·Towards infrastructure, SCR has been sanctioned an staggering amount of Rs 2768 Crs for the year 2015-16, which is 24% more than the year 2014-15.
·The total outlay earmarked for New Lines, Doubling, Bridges, Road over Bridges, Traffic Facilities and other specified works etc is Rs 984.33 Crs, which is 60% higher as compared to Rs 616 Crs during the FY 2014-15.
·For New Lines, the budgetary grant for 2015-16 is Rs 511.6 Crs., which is 23% more than previous year.
·For Doubling works, the budgetary grant for 2015-16 is Rs 233 Crs., which is 331.56% more than previous year.
·For Bridges, the budgetary grant for 2015-16 is Rs 26.9 Crs., which is 61% more than previous year.
·For Road over Bridges, the budgetary grant is Rs 101.67 Crs, for Traffic Facilities the budgetary grant is Rs 40.68 Crs for the year 2015-16.
In Terms of Budgetary Allocations for important o­ngoing new line projects, the details are as follows:-
vRs 141 Crs for Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad project.
vRs 100 Crs for Mellacheruvu-Vishnupuram project.
vRs 130 Crs for Nandyal-Yerraguntla project
(This high allocation will enable in completing the above three projects.)
vRs 20 Crs for Manoharabad-Kothapalli project.
vRs 110 Crs for Nadikudi-Srikalahasti project.
vRs 35 Crs for Gulbarga-Bidar project.
vRs 150 Crs for Vijayawada-Bhimavaram-Nidadavolu doubling and electrification works, has been allotted.

Summary of Sanctioned Projects in SCR in Railway Budget 2015
The new projects sanctioned for SCR in the Railway Budget 2015 include four doubling, three tripling and o­ne new railway line projects to a length of 1197 Kms. The total anticipated cost is Rs 11703 Crs and the budgetary allocation in the railway budget 2015 is Rs 267.59 Crs. The details are as below:-

ØVijayawada-Gudur Tripling of railway line project (293  Kms) at an anticipated cost of    Rs 2423 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 55.4 Crs.
ØDuvvada-Vijayawada Tripling of railway line project (335 Kms) at an anticipated cost of Rs         3350 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 76.6 Crs.
ØKazipet-Balharshah Tripling of railway line project (202 Kms) at an anticipated cost of   Rs 2020 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 46.19 Crs.
ØGooty-Dharmavaram-Banglore Doubling of railway line project (180 Kms) at an anticipated cost of Rs 1800 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 41.16 Crs.
ØSecunderabad-Mahboobnagar Doubling of railway line project (110 Kms) at an anticipated cost of Rs 1200 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 27.44 Crs.
ØRenigunta, Dharmavaram & Wadi Bypass Doubling of railway line project (21 Kms) at an anticipated cost of Rs 300 Crs. The budgetary allocation for the year 2015-16 is Rs 6.86 Crs.

CHANGE OF TRAIN ROUTE, TERMINAL AND TIMINGS

To decongest the New Jalpaiguri station and its adjacent sections, it has been decided to change the travel route of some passenger trains along with change of timings and stoppages. The revised route and timings will be effective from 1st March, 2015. Details given below:

1)Train number 15463 / 15464 Balurghat-New Jalpaiguri Intercity Express will now run from Siliguri Jn. via Siliguri – Aluabari section. Accordingly train number 15464 Siliguri Jn. – Balurghat Intercity Express will leave Siliguri Jn. at 09-50hrs. via Bagdogra, Thakurganj and Aluabari Road to arrive Balurghat at 16-15 hrs. While train number 15463 Balurghat – Siliguri Jn. Intercity Express will leave Balurghat at  10-30hrs. via Aluabari Road, Thakurganj, Bagadogra to arrive Siliguri jn. at 16-55 hrs. daily.

To clear the extra rush of passenger, o­ne Holi special train will run between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri and back as per details given below:

Holi special train bearing number 03059 will leave Howrah o­n 04-03-2015 at 23-55 hrs. to arrive New Jalpaiguri at 10-10 hrs next day. During return journey Holi special train bearing number 03060 will leave New Jalpaiguri o­n 05-03-2015 at 12-35 hrs. to arrive Howrah at 22-50 hrs. Service of train number 03129 / 03130 weekly special train running between Alipurduar and Kolkata via Dankuni has been extended for another five trips. Train number 03129 will leave Kolkata every Sunday from 01-03-2015 to 29-03-2015 at 22-45 hrs. to arrive Alipurduar Jn. at 13-25 hrs next day. During return journey train number 03130 will leave Alipurduar Jn. every Monday from 02-03-2015 to 30-03-2015 at 16-50 hrs. to arrive Kolkata at 08-45 hrs next day. AC 2 tier, AC 3 tier, sleeper class and general second class accommodation are available.

DIVERSION OF TRAIN SERVICES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE

For undertaking modernization work to facilitate more movement of trains, work has been undertaken in the Bandel  - Katwa section of Eastern railway. For this 12518 Guwahati-Kolkata Garib Rath Express scheduled to leave Guwahati o­n 25-02-2015 will have to be diverted via Poradanga – Gosain Gram – Nalhati – Rampurhat – Barddhaman – Bandel with stoppages at Nalhati, Ahmedpur and Barddhaman.

The facilities of Railway Reservation Tickets are provided at Post Offices of Saudatti, Athani, Sandur, Bellary Cantonment, Nippani, Jamkhandi, Mundgod, Bijapur, Donimalai, Navanagar, Yellapur, Dandeli, Halyal, Sirsi, Hospet, Gangavati, Ron, Raia (Goa), Mapusa(Goa) and Conculim(Goa) on Hubli Division of South Western Railway.

Also unreserved ticketing Agents Jana Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak(JTBS) facility has been commissioned at Hubli (Station Road), Indi Road(Near Railway Station), Bagalkot (Bus Stand Road) and three in Bijapur (one Opp. to UBI Ram Mandhir Road, one BLDE Hospital Road and one Near Railway Station).

Station Ticket Booking Sevak (STBS) is introduced at Suldhal, Shedbal, Mallapur, Ginigera and Banapur Railway Stations, where the nominated Sevak will issue tickets at Station Master manned stations to reduce the queue time.

Further, applications are invited from eligible Railway ticket Agents for Yatri Ticket Sevak Kendra(YTSK) for allotment of Agencies for selling of Railway Reserved & Unreserved Tickets

            Shri A.K.Puthia General Manager, Northern Railway inspected Anand Vihar Terml. station today (25.02.2015) ahead of the high-demand Holi Festival Rush. He has accompanied by Shri Arun Arora, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Delhi and senior Railway officers. Shri Puthia visited the reservation centres, checked o­n maintenance of passenger amenities available at the station and reviewed crowd-management measures being undertaken o­n the occasion of Holi and the peak demand ahead of the festival and subsequently. He exhorted the station staff and Railway officers to work in dedicated and cohesive manner to ensure smooth services in all areas. Other topical concerns highlighted by the General Manager during the visit include monitoring of Trains Enquiry system and Announcement systems, up-dation of train running position o­n PRS system, cleanliness at stations and in trains, adequate drinking water, illuminated signages and clean and proper waiting halls, manning of Booking and Enquiry counters during the peak hours, vigilance checks at station premises and areas around the station were

      Northern Railway has geared up to tackle the up coming Holi & Summer Rush of 2015 rolling out a multi-pronged action plan.Functioning of reservation counters were reviewed to cater to heavy demand, measures are also underway to ensure availability of passenger amenities. Monitoring measures were initiated to check any malpractices in reservation offices. Based o­n the trend of passenger rush during previous years,5 pairs of Premium Specials, o­ne pair of Jansadharan Special and 16 pairs of Express Special trains marking 301 trips in all,have been planned to run o­n destinations located o­n Northern Railway from 1.03.2015 to 31.03.2015 to cater to the Holi Festival Rush.

      Premium Services are planned from the National Capital to Darbhanga, Barauni, Allahabad, Mumbai Central, Gorakhpur. A pair of Jansadhran Specials will run from Delhi to Chhapra. Express Special trains are planned between National Capital to Varanasi, Udhampur, Lucknow,(2 services), Darbhanga, Barauni, Aligarh, Malda Town, Gorakhpur and between other far-flung destinations o­n the zones.

New Divisional Railway Managers take Charge of Vijayawada and Guntur Divisions

Two new Divisional Railway Managers have taken charge of Vijayawada and Guntur Divisions of SCR respectively today i.e., 20th February, 2015.

Vijayawada Division:-

Shri Ashok Kumar of Indian Railway Service of Engineering (IRSE) assumed charge as the Divisional Railway Manager of Vijayawada Division. Shri Ashok Kumar, joined the Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) o­n 21stJuly, 1986. Amongst the assignments he had held earlier are, as Executive Director (Structure) and Executive Director (Track Machines) at Railway Designs & Standard Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow. Shri Ashok Kumar holds a rich Administrative and Management experience and is a keen sports enthusiast.

Guntur Division:-

Shri Vijay Sharma, of Indian Railway Service of Engineering (IRSE) assumed charge as Divisional Railway Manager of Guntur Division. He joined the Indian Railway Service of Engineers in the year 1984. Shri Sharma started his Railway career as an Assistant Engineer at Koraput in Rayagada district of Odisha. Later he worked as Divisional Engineer & Senior Divisional Engineer in Lucknow and as Deputy Chief Engineer /Construction/Jodhpur. Shri Sharma also handled the assignment as Executive Director, Track Machine at Research Development and Standards Organisation (RDSO) before joining South Central Railway in the year 2010, where he was serving as Chief Engineer in the office of Chief Administrative Officer/ Construction before his new assignment as DRM of Guntur Division.

Advance Booking of Cab and Porter at Secunderabad and Tirupati Stations before train arrival

A novel initiative, to  put an end to the hassles faced by the passengers in finding a cab or porter when they arrive at their destination by a train ie., a new service called   Concierge Services  has been introduced in South Central Railway at Secunderabad and Tirupati Railway Stations. Under this service, a passenger can book Cab and Porter at his destination station before his train arrives at this station.
The Concierge Services is being extended by the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and will shortly be provided at Vijayawada and Guntur stations too.
Under this service, Passengers having confirmed train reservation can book these Cab / Porter  36 hours in advance  on line at  www.irctc.co.inand www.irctctourism.com. The services can be availed as a combo of both ie., cab and porter or cab services alone.  After booking of the services by the passengers, the details of cab services and contact numbers will be intimated to them before their train arrives at the destinations. At these destination stations, the staff of  IRCTC, will be available to ensure hassle free services to the passengers o­n arrival.
            At Secunderabad, the Cab Services will be provided for passengers arriving by Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto and AP Express trains. Passengers reaching Secunderabad by these trains can book the Cab services at Secunderabad for two slabs ie.,  0-20 km slab and 20-40 km slab in small and mid segment categories of vehicles.
At Tirupati, Cab services will be provided for Passenger arriving by trains coming from New Delhi, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam and Mumbai. They can book cab services in Tirupati for various durations ie., 4 hours 40 kms; 8 hours 80 kms; and 12 hours 120 kms slabs. The facility can be availed for Indica, Qualis and  Tempo categories of vehicles.
Subsequently, these  Concierge Services will be extended by all  trains. The Porter Chargeswill be applicable to two pieces of luggage weighing 40kgs and o­ne trolley load.
