Highlights of Coaching Operations of Southern Railway during April – December 2012


During the period April – December 2012, 18 pairs of new trains were introduced,   11 pairs of trains have been extended and frequency of 2 pairs of Express trains have been increased as under.

Special Trains

            1183 Special trains were run o­n various sectors in April – December 2012 to clear the extra rush of passengers.

Augmentation of Trains

            During April – December 2012, 90 coaches were permanently augmented and 5535 coaches were temporarily augmented by various trains to clear waitlisted passengers o­n a daily basis.
