CONVERSION OF TRAINS TO MEMU

Following trains are converted from conventional to 12 car MEMU (Main Line Electrical Multiple Unit) with revision of trains numbers: -

1.Train No.16521/16522 Bangarpet - KSR Bengaluru - Bangarpet Express will run as Train No.16521/16522 Bangarpet - KSR Bengaluru - Bangarpet MEMU Express with effect from 08.09.2018.

2.Train No.56509/56510 Marikuppam - ­ KSR Bengaluru - Marikuppam Passenger will run as Train No.66545/66546 KSR Bengaluru - Marikuppam - KSR Bengaluru MEMU with effect from 09.09.2018.

3.Train No.56505/56506 Bangarpet - Marikuppam - Bangarpet Passenger will run as 66547/66548 Bangarpet - Marikuppam - Bangarpet MEMU with effect from 09.09.2018.

4.Train No.16519/16520 Jolarpettai - KSR Bengaluru - Jolarpettai Express will run as Train No.16519/16520 Jolarpettai - KSR Bengaluru - Jolarpettai MEMU Express with effect from 09.09.2018 from KSR Bengaluru and from 10.09.2018 from Jolarpettai.

The composition of the above MEMUs will be 3 Motor Cars and 9 Trailing cars                          (Total: 12 Cars).

There will be no change in timings and stoppages.

It was notified for conversion of Train Nos.56510/56509, 56506/56505, 16520/16519 from conventional to 8 car MEMU with effect from 25.07.2018 and later the conversion was postponed until further advise. Now it is decided to convert these trains along with Train No.16522/16521 from conventional to 12 Car MEMU.

1.Train Nos. 56507 / 56508 Marikuppam - KSR Bengaluru - Marikuppam Passenger will be converted to Train No. 66545 / 66546 Marikuppam - KSR Bengaluru - Marikuppam MEMU.

2.Train Nos. 56511 / 56512 Bangarpet - Marikuppam - Bangarpet Passenger will be converted to Train Nos. 66547 / 66548 Bangarpet - Marikuppam - Bangarpet MEMU.

The composition of the MEMU will be 4 Motor Cars and 12 Trailing Cars (Total-16 Cars)

MEMU TRAIN BETWEEN PURI AND ANGUL TO BE INTRODUCED FROM 10TH JULY, 2018

East Coast Railway has decided to implement MEMU service between Puri & Angul and Sambalpur & Rourkela.


MEMU Train between Puri and Angul will replace 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


After implementation of MEMU service between Puri and Angul, Train number to be changed to 68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU instead of 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


This is completely new rake made by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.


68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU will run daily except o­n Monday from Puri and o­n Tuesday from Angul.


58422 Puri-Angul passenger will leave Puri o­n Monday and 58421 Angul-Puri Passenger will leave o­n Tuesday o­nly.


68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU will run as per the timings of 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


This is the second MEMU Train to run in this region.


Apart from This, 78103/78104 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela DUMU passenger has also been replaced with MEMU Train w.e.f. 9th July, 2018.


Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will run with train number 68027/68028 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU.


58135/58136 & 58137/58138 Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Passengers will be replaced with MEMU Train with revised number 68033/68034 & 68031/68032 Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda MEMU.


58133/58134 Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela passenger will replace by 68029/68030 Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela MEMU.


68027/68028 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will run with revised timings between Rourkela & Sambalpur from both the directions.


68027 Rourkela-Sambalpur MEMU will leave Rourkela at 0720hrs will arrive at Sambalpur at 1045hrs. In the return direction, 68028 Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will leave Sambalpur at 1110hrs and will arrive at Rourkela at 1445hrs.

WESTERN RAILWAY TO ATTACH EXTRA COACHES IN 23 MORE PAIRS OF TRAINS

W. Rly has now decided to augment 23 more pairs of trains with additional coaches o­n temporary basis to clear the holiday rush. 12 coaches of different classes are being attached to these 23 pairs of trains to clear the rush and also benefit passengers, especially those with a waitlisted ticket. MUMBAI AHMEDABAD SHATABDI EXPRESS WITH ALL REFURBISHED COACHES UNDER “PROJECT SWARN” ROLLED

After the most popular AC local train started recently, Western Railway has provided one more new year bonanza to its esteemed passengers, as the prestigious Shatabdi Express running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad has been given a brand new look with all refurbished coaches. It rolled out for its maiden run today i.e on 1st January, 2018 under “Project Swarn”. Special focus has been given on the enhanced travelling experience & riding comfort of our esteemed customers.

According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the Exteriors have been painted with dust-resistant superior finish PU paint. The retro reflective destination boards and coach numbering plates will ease out passenger woes of locating coaches in the dark. Interiors have been decorated with anti graffiti coated Designer Vinyl Wrap in the passage, entrances, toilets and ceilings and new paint coating on wall panels. All information related to safety and services available on board while travelling has been put on a single notice board for the convenience of passengers. The seating area has been made squeaky clean to given a pleasing ambience and better travelling experience. Beautiful painting and breathtaking photographs depicting monuments and cultural heritage of Maharashtra and Gujarat have been put in the seating area. A Wi-Fi based advertisement free on board free of cost entertainment system has been provided in the executive class for our esteemed passengers. The average cost of refurbishing one rake is Rs 50 lakh.

The washrooms have been fitted with luxurious bath fittings, improved design wash basins, soap and toilet paper dispensers, hygienic automatic personal seat dispensers for western toilets, auto janitors to control odour, and scrapper matting to keep floor clean. A QR code based smart feedback system has been set up to take feedback for individual coaches and toilets. EXTRA COACH SUBURBAN TRAINS IN SEALDAH DIVISION

For convenience of the suburban commuters, Sealdah Division has augmented 28 suburban services from 10-car to 12-car in Sealdah South section and 4 suburban services from 9-car to 12-car in Sealdah – Shantipur/Krishnanagar City Jn. & Sealdah – Bongaon Jn./ Hasnabad section during 2017-18 despite acute platform congestion at Sealdah Main & North stations.

          Besides, 4 new suburban services have been introduced in Sealdah/Sonarpur – Diamond Harbour section and 2 new suburban services in Barasat Jn. – Hasnabad section with the new timetable – 2017 w.e.f. 1.11.2017.

          Moreover, 5 suburban services have also been augmented from 9-car to 12-car in Sealdah – Shantipur/Krishnanagar City & Sealdah – Bongaon Jn./Hasnabad section w.e.f. 11.11.2017.

          Further, 3 down trains have been augmented from 9-car to 12-car services during morning peak period and 4 Up trains have been augmented from 9-car to 12-car services during evening peak period to facilitate the daily passengers of Sealdah – Shantipur/Krishnanagar City and Sealdah – Bongaon Jn./Hasnabad sections.

Permanent Augmentation of Additional Coaches to Secunderabad-Vijayawada-Secunderabad and H.S.Nanded-Panvel-H.S.Nanded Express Trains

In order to provide additional travelling facility, four express trains are permanently augmented with additional coaches as detailed below:-

1)Train No. 12796 Secunderabad – Vijayawada Intercity Express will be permanently augmented with o­ne AC Chair Car and three Second sitting Coaches from 29thNovember, 2017.

2)Train No. 12795 Vijayawada - Secunderabad Intercity Express will be permanently augmented with o­ne AC Chair Car and three Second sitting Coaches from 29thNovember, 2017.

3)Train No. 17614 H.S.Nanded - Panvel Express will be permanently augmented with o­ne Sleeper class Coache from 29th November, 2017.

4)Train No. 17613 Panvel - H.S.NandedExpress will be permanently augmented with o­ne Sleeper class Coache from 30thNovember, 2017.

ADDITIONAL AC COACH IN THREE EXPRESS TRAINS

For the convenience of the passengers, Eastern Railway will attach o­ne additional AC 3-tier coach each in 3 long distance trains .on temporary basis Viz 12319/12320 Kolkata-Agra Cant. Express  via Kasganj, 12357/12358 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express and 13135/13136 Kolkata-Jaynagar Express.

The additional coach will be attached in the above trains in different dates between 14 November 2017 to 8 January 2018.

With effect from 01.12.2017, 50% of the Sleeper Class coaches running by Train No.16853 / 16854 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Cholan Express trains will be classified as Second Class Chair Car (reserved) coaches.
Thus, of the 10 Sleeper Class coaches running by Cholan Express, 5 coaches will be ‘classified’ as Second Class Chair Car (reserved) coaches.
