New MMTS Services between Medchal – Lingampalli and Medchal – Hyderabad stations

outh Central Railway has been continuously working towards improving its Rail services so as to meet the requirements of its passengers. The zone has also been undertaking several measures to facilitate travel of regular commuters by MMTS services and to further enhance the connectivity between different areas of the twin-city region. Accordingly, as part of the new time table of South Central Railway which has come into effect o­n 01^st October, 2023, the zone has introduced six new MMTS services between Medchal – Lingampalli and Medchal – Hyderabad and Medchal – Lingampalli areas for the benefit of sub-urban passengers. In addition, Six MMTS Services have also been introduced between Umdanagar – Secunderabad and Falaknuma – Secunderabad.

                              

Taking into view the feedback received from the suburban travellers in the twin city region, MMTS Services have been reorganised. The 4 MMTS services have been introduced between Medchal – Lingampalli Section. These services have been introduced during the Morning and evening peak hours, benefitting daily commuters and office goers. Further, for first time MMTS Train connectivity has been given between Medchal – Hyderabad stations.

Recently, Vande Bharat Train Service had been introduced between Kacheguda – Bengaluru (Yesvantpur) – Kacheguda. To facilitate connectivity of Suburban travellers to connect to Kacheguda station during the morning and evening time, o­ne pair of MMTS services have been introduced from Lingamapalli – Umdanagar in the early morning and from Falaknuma – Lingampalli in the night times.

 As a result of introduction of new services and revision of train timings of existing services, more number of passengers from different areas of twin city region of Hyderabad and Secunderabad will be able to avail the MMTS services. These Services will strengthen the rail connectivity of outer-sub urban areas of the city and will be particularly beneficial to students, commuters, small business people, ladies, employees etc.

 Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway stated that under the new time table prime importance has been given to facilitate the travel needs of office goers and those travelling long distances due to various work and family commitments. He said that more number of rail passengers in the twin city region can now avail the most cost-effective as well safe, fast travel option.

NEW TRAIN TO KANCHIPURAM & OTHER CHANGES

Connectivity to Kanchipuram will be increased by extension of a train service to Kanchipuram and by introduction of a new EMU train from Kanchipuram to Chennai with stoppages at all stations in both the directions. 

On and from 30th September 2018, Train No.40561 Chennai Beach–Chengalpattu EMU leaving Chennai Beach at 18.40 hrs and arriving Chengalpattu at 20.30 hrs is extended to Kanchipuram as Kanchipuram Passenger Special. This will leave Chengalpattu at 20.45 hrs and arrive Kanchipuram at at 21.40 hours.


On and from 1st October 2018, a new Passenger Special from Kanchipuram to Chennai Beach will be operated. This train will leave Kanchipuram at 06.10 hours, arrive Chengalpattu at 06.55, leave Chengalpattu at 07.10 hours, arrive Tambaram at 07.58 hrs, leave Tambaram at 08.00 hrs to reach Chennai Beach at 08.55 hrs, stopping at all stations.

In view of this, the following are the changes in the pattern of train services :-

·From 30th September o­nwards, Chengalpattu – Chennai Beach ( T.No 40568 o­n weekdays and Train No.40660 o­n Sundays ) leaving Chengalpattu at 20.50 hrs will be partially cancelled between Chengalpattu and Tambaram, and will be operated as a Passenger Special between Tambaram and Chennai Beach.

·Subsequently, the departure time of T.No 40804 Kanchipuram – Chennai Beach local at Chengalpattu is changed to leave at 20.35 hours instead of 20.25 hours.

·From 7th October o­nwards, T.No 40801/40802/40803/40804 Chennai Beach – Kanchipuram – Chennai Beach locals which are presently running from Monday to Saturday will be operated o­n Sundays also as passenger specials with weekday’s stoppings.

 ·From 1st October 2018 o­nwards, All the EMU passenger Specials which were introduced in view of Bus fare hike from 31stJanuary 2018 are cancelled. ( 9 EMU Passenger Specials in Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu section and 8 Passenger Specials in Chennai Beach – Velachery section )

Deendayal Upadhyay Jn.) two days a week  Ekatmata  express train will depart o­n every Tuesday & Thursday from 07.08.2018 from Lucknow at 11.35 p.m. to arrive at Mughalsarai (Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Jn.)  at 06.55 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 14261 Mughalsarai ( Pt. Dindayal Upadhyay Jn.)-Lucknow two days a week Ekatmata  express train will depart o­n every Wednesday & Friday from 08.08.2018 from Mughalsarai ( Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Jn.)  at 11.00 p.m. to arrive at  Lucknowat 05.10 a.m. the next day.

  Comprising of o­ne AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier , six Sleeper class, six general class and two second class cum luggage van coaches  the 14262/14261 Lucknow-Mughalsarai (Pt. MEMU TRAIN BETWEEN PURI AND ANGUL TO BE INTRODUCED FROM 10TH JULY, 2018

East Coast Railway has decided to implement MEMU service between Puri & Angul and Sambalpur & Rourkela.


MEMU Train between Puri and Angul will replace 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


After implementation of MEMU service between Puri and Angul, Train number to be changed to 68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU instead of 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


This is completely new rake made by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.


68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU will run daily except o­n Monday from Puri and o­n Tuesday from Angul.


58422 Puri-Angul passenger will leave Puri o­n Monday and 58421 Angul-Puri Passenger will leave o­n Tuesday o­nly.


68421/68422 Angul-Puri-Angul MEMU will run as per the timings of 58421/58422 Angul-Puri-Angul passenger.


This is the second MEMU Train to run in this region.


Apart from This, 78103/78104 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela DUMU passenger has also been replaced with MEMU Train w.e.f. 9th July, 2018.


Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will run with train number 68027/68028 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU.


58135/58136 & 58137/58138 Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Passengers will be replaced with MEMU Train with revised number 68033/68034 & 68031/68032 Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda MEMU.


58133/58134 Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela passenger will replace by 68029/68030 Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela MEMU.


68027/68028 Rourkela-Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will run with revised timings between Rourkela & Sambalpur from both the directions.


68027 Rourkela-Sambalpur MEMU will leave Rourkela at 0720hrs will arrive at Sambalpur at 1045hrs. In the return direction, 68028 Sambalpur-Rourkela MEMU will leave Sambalpur at 1110hrs and will arrive at Rourkela at 1445hrs.

Train no.15625 / 15626 Agartala- Deoghar Weekly Express

The train will cover the distance of 1,462 km between Agartala and Deoghar in about 39 hours. From Agartala, the train will leave every Saturday at 22.00 hrs to reach Deoghar at 13.00 hrs of Monday. In the return direction, the train will leave Deoghar every Monday at 18.45 hrs to reach Agartala at 08.15 hrs of Wednesday. It will traverse through the states of Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. The train will have 20 stoppages in its journey including Agartala, Ambasa, Dharmanagar, Badarpur, Lumding, Guwahati, Rangiya, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Khagaria and Bhagalpur.

The new train introduced today has many advanced safety features including highly crashworthy Centre Buffer Coupler which will minimize injury to passengers in case of any accident. The AC 3-Tier fare from Agartala to Deoghar would be about Rs. 1,600/- per person and the fare in sleeper class would be Rs. 580. The new train will traverse through the states of Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand providing connectivity to a large number of people of the entire eastern India.

It may be mentioned that the first BG passenger train linking Agartala with rest of the country was started o­n 31-07-2016. Since then, 10 more pairs of trains have been introduced in Tripura including a Rajdhani services introduced o­n 28-10-2017 and Humsafar Express to Bangalore introduced o­n 05-01-2018. The train flagged off today would be the 12th pair of train services introduced in Tripura since July 2016. The capital city of Agartala has already been connected with New Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore.
