Train No. 22833/22834 Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajapuram-Bhubaneswar Humsafar Express Weekly



Train No. 22833 Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajapuram Humsafar Express will depart Bhubaneswar at 12:00 hrs o­n every Monday and arrive Krishnarajapuram at 13:00 hrs o­n the next day with effect from 17th July, 2017.

In the return direction, Train No. 22834 Krishnarajapuram-Bhubaneswar Humsafar Express will depart Krishnarajapuram at 16:05 hrs o­n every Tuesday and arrive Bhubaneswar at 17:45 hrs o­n the next day with effect from 18th July, 2017.

Enroute, these trains will stop at Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Srikakulam Rd, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Duvvada, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Bangarpet stations in both the directions.

These trains consist of 19 coaches viz., sixteen AC III Tier Coaches, o­ne Pantry Car and two Generator Power Car Coaches.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways, inspects new rake of Humsafar class of trains with added features

Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inspected the new rake of Humsafar Express with additional features today i.e. 14 June 2017 at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. In his Budget Speech of 2016-17, he had announced the introduction of Humsafar Express, as a fully air-conditioned third AC service with an optional service for meals.  The additional features of Humsafar new rake offers:



Single Piece Side Lower Berth (previously 2 piece)
Mobile Charging point for each berth (previously 3 chargers for 8 passengers) including USB charging points.
Reading light for each berth (previously only the lower berths had reading lights)
Convenient upper berth climbing arrangement
Urinal in 2 toilets per coach
Baby Nappy Changing Pad in 2 toilets per coach
Display Monitor Screen for the CCTV installed in the coach.
Dustbins in each bay inside the coach.


In addition to these, all the existing features of Humsafar Express coaches will continue to be available, some of which are listed below:



Aesthetically pleasing colour scheme with anti-graffiti coating and distinctive 3D
numbering on the exterior.

Pleasing interiors with attractive and colourfully co-ordinated seats, berths, partitions,
            curtains, improved/hygienic toilets, film type mirrors, etc.

Deodorizer, Dustbins, Sleek bottle holders in the cabins
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance of the common areas of the coaches.
Integrated Braille displays for the visually impaired.
Hygienic lavatories with odour flushing system
Global Positioning System (GPS) based Passenger information system
Passenger announcement system
Fire and Smoke detection system in the coaches.
Fire detection and suppression system in the Power cars
Equipped with Auto Vending Machine and Mini Pantry with Oven/Fridge


A total of 11 Humsafar trains have been announced by the Ministry of Railways in the new time table. Of these, 6 trains of Humsafar Express namely:

12595/12596 Gorakhpur- Anand Vihar

12503/12504 Kamakhya- Bangalore Cantt,

22887/22888 Howrah- Yesvantpur,

14715/14716 Sriganganagar- Tiruchchirapalli,

22867/22868 Durg- Nizamuddin,

22919/22920 Ahmedabad- Chennai Central

These trains are running with a composition of 16 AC 3 Tier coaches and 2 Power cars.

Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu who is visiting Vijayawada tomorrow (15-06-2017), will be flagging off 2 trains of Humsafar Express namely train no.22705/22706 Tirupati - Jammutawi & train no 20889/20890 Howrah- Vijaywada Humsafar train. The remaining Humsafar trains will also be introduced in due course.

It is planned to manufacture 10 Humsafar rakes during the current financial year at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. The cost of a Humsafar AC 3 Tier coach Rs.2.58 crores, as compared to Rs.2.39 crores for a normal LHB AC 3 Tier coach.

CONVERSION OF SHRI GANGANAGAR - TIRUCHCHIRAPALLI - SHRI GANGANAGAR HAMSAFAR EXPRESS IN TO HAMSAFAR SUPERFAST EXPRESS

Railway has decided to convert Train No. 14715/14716, Shri Ganganagar - Tiruchchirapalli -  Shri Ganganagar Hamsafar Express in to weekly Hamsafar Superfast Express with change in Train Number as 22497/22498.There is no change in existing stoppages and train composition.The converted service commences with effect from 08nd August, 2017 from Shri Ganganagar end and from 11th August, 2017 from Tiruchchirapalli end.

                                       Accordingly, Train No. 22497 Shri Ganganagar - Tiruchchirapalli weekly Hamsafar Superfast Express departs Shri Ganganagar at 00:55 Hrs. on Tuesday and arrives Tiruchchirapalli at 11:20 hrs. on Thrusday.Enroute the train on Wednesday arrives/ departs Belagavi at 16:25/16:27 Hrs., arrives/ departs Dharwad at 19:06/19:08 Hrs., arrives/ departs Hubballi Jn. at 19:30/19:35 Hrs., arrives/ departs Harihar at 21:28/21:30 Hrs., arrives/ departs Davangere at 21:43/21:45 Hrs., arrives/ departs Birur Jn. at 23:28/23:30 Hrs., and on Thrusday arrives/ departs Arsikere Jn.at 00:30/00:35 Hrs., arrives/ departs Tumakuru at 02:13/02:15 Hrs., arrives/ departs Banasavadiat 03:23/03:25 Hrs., arrives/ departs Krishnarajapuram at 03:42/03:44 Hrs., arrives/ departs Bagarapetat 04:43/04:45 Hrs. The present running time of this Hamsafar Express is 61 Hours 05 Minutes. The running time will reduce by 2 Hours 50 Minutes after conversion of this train in to superfast.

Enroute the train on Friday arrives/ departs Bagarapetat 10:28/10:30. Train No. 22919 /22920 Ahmedabad – Chennai – Ahmedabad Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express


Train No. 22920 Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 15.30 hrs o¬n every Monday from 8th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 22.05 hrs the same day and reach Chennai at 22.35 hrs. the next day (Tuesday).

In return direction, Train No. 22919 Chennai – Ahmedabad Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Chennai at 20.10 hrs o¬n every Wednesday from 10th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 21.15 hrs the next day (Thursday) and will reach Ahmedabad at 03.15 hrs. on the third day (Friday).

The train will halt at Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Pune, Solapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Guntakal and Renigunta stations in both directions. The train will have AC III Tier Class coaches and Pantry Car.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Govt of India, will flag off the inaugural run of the Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express from Ahmedabad, through video conferencing, in a function at Udvada,Gujarat on Tuesday, at 15.30 hours on 2nd May, 2017. In its inaugural run, the train will depart from Ahmedabad on Tuesday, 2nd May, 2017 at 15.30 hours as Humsafar Superfast Special Train with the train No. 09432, it will arrive at Vasai Road at 22.05 on the same day and reach Chennai the next day at 22.35 hrs. In its return journey,it will depart as train No. 09431 Chennai-Ahmedabad Super Fast Humsafar Special train from Chennai at 19.00 hrs on Tuesday, 4th may,2017 and reach Ahmedabad at 02.05 hrs on 6th may,2017.

As a regular service, Train No. 22920 Ahmedabad – Chennai Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 15.30 hrs o¬n every Monday from 8th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 22.05 hrs the same day and reach Chennai at 22.35 hrs. the next day (Tuesday).
In return direction, Train No. 22919 Chennai – Ahmedabad Humsafar Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Chennai at 20.10 hrs o¬n every Wednesday from 10th May, 2017, will arrive at Vasai Road at 21.15 hrs the next day (Thursday) and will reach Ahmedabad at 03.15 hrs. on the third day (Friday).

Train No. 22867/22868 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Durg Bi-Weekly Hamsafar Express


For the convenience of rail passengers railways have decided to introduce a new bi-weekly Hamsafar Express Train No. 22867/22868 to run between Durg & Hazrat Nizamuddin as per the following programme.

The 22867 Durg-Hazrat Nizamuddin bi-weekly Hamsafar Express train will depart from Durg on every Tuesday and Friday at 07.10 a.m. from 28.04.2017 to arrive Hazrat Nizamuddin at 04.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction the 22868 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Durg bi-weekly Hamsafar Express train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin on every Wednesday and Saturday at 08.30 a.m. from 26.04.2017 to arrive at Durg at 06.30 a.m. the next day.

Comprising of 16 AC 3-tier coaches, the 22867/22868 Durg-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Durg bi-weekly Hamsafar Express train will stop at Raipur, Bhatapara, Bilaspur, Pendra Road, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni Murwara, Damoh, Sagaour, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt. & Mathura stations enroute in both the directions.

Sriganganagar – Tiruchchirappalli Hum Safar (Weekly) Express: Weekly superfast express trains will be introduced between Sriganganagar – Tiruchchirappalli.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways will flag off the inaugural special (Train No.04715) from Sriganganagar at 15.00 hrs. through video conferencing from Rail Bhavan, New Delhi.

The inaugural special will leave Sriganganagar at 15.00 hrs. on 27.2.2017 and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 07.00 hrs. on 2.3.2017.

The inaugural special will leave Ernakulam at 15.15 hrs. on 27.2.2017 and reach Howrah at 09.00 hrs. on 1.3.2017.

Railway Board has provided additional stoppage for Kamakhya-Bengaluru Cantt.-Kamakhya Humsafar Express at Palasa and Srikakulam Road railway stations with effect from 7th February, 2017 Ex. Kamakhya and 10th February, 2017 Ex. Bengaluru Cantt. as detailed below:-

1. Train No. 12504 Kamakhya-Bengaluru Cantt. Humsafar Express will arrive / depart Palasa at 23:10/23:12 hrs and Srikakulam Road at 00:0 3/00:05 hrs.

2. Train No. 12503 Bengaluru Cantt.-Kamakhya Humsafar Express will arrive / depart Srikakulam Road at 07:19/07:21 hrs and Palasa at 08:18/08:20 hrs.

Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Weekly Humsafar Express Train to be Introduced

Ministry of Railways approved for introduction of Train No. 22887/22888 Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Weekly Humsafar Express via Vijayawada. Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways flagging off the inaugural service of Train No. 02887 Howrah-Yesvantpur Humsafar Express on 20th January, 2017 through video conferencing from Darjeeling.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 22888 Yesvantpur-Howrah Weekly Humsafar Express Train (with effect from 26th January, 2017) will depart Yesvantpur at 09:55 hrs every Thursday and arrive/depart Renigunta at 16:30/16:45 hrs, Ongole at 20:35/20:37 hrs, Vijayawada at 22:55/23:05 hrs, Rajahmundry at 01:15/01:17 hrs, Visakhapatnam at 05:10/05:30 hrs and arrive Howrah at 18:30 hrs on the next day.

Train No. 12503, Bengaluru Cantt. -Kamakhya Weekly Humsafar Express, the regular service of which has started with effect from 30th December,2016, and Train No. 12504, Kamakhya-Bengaluru Cantonment Weekly Humsafar Express, the regular service of which hasstarted with effect from 03rdJanuary,2017 are also provided with additional stoppage at Vishakhapatnam i.e., enroute, the train will have stoppages at New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampur Hat, Howrah, Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Barhampur, Vizianagaram, Vishakhapatnam, Duvvada, Vijayawada, Perambur, Katpadi and Whitefield in both directions.

Train No. 02504 Kamakhya-Bangalore Cantt inaugural special train will depart Kamakya at 12:15 hrs o­n 25th December, 2016 (Sunday) and arrive Bangalure  Cantt 17: 00 hrs o­n the Tuesday.

Regular service of Train No. 12504/12503 Kamakya-Bangalore Cantt-Kamakya Humsafar Express:
The regular services will commence from 30th December, 2016 Ex. Bangalore Cantt  (Tr.No.12503) and from 3rdJanuary, 2017 Ex. Kamakhya (Tr.No.12504).

LUXURY AT AFFORDABLE PRICE – NORTHEAST TO GET “HUMSAFAR EXPRESS”

The people of Northeastern region is set to get the flagship “Humsafar” train when Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu flags off through video conferencing the inaugural Kamakhya – Bangalore Cantonment Humsafar Express o­n 25th December. Railway Minister of State Rajen Gohain will be present at Kamakhya station during the inaugural run.

            The Railway Minister had announced introduction of the all-AC affordable ‘luxury’ train for common man in his Railway Budget 2016. The Humsafar train with 19 air-conditioned 3-tier Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches developed by Alstom LHB GmbH of Germany and produced by Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, includes facilities like Global Positioning System (GPS)- based passenger information system, odour control system, fire announcement system etc. which are not available in other AC 3-Tier coaches.

            The Humsafar Express is designed keeping comfort of passengers as primary goal and is incorporated with many new features to make travel luxurious but affordable. A GPS-based display system at each end of the coaches shows real-time information about the exact location of the train and the distance from the next station.

            Each of the coaches of Humsafar Express has modern toilets with plush interiors. The odour control system has been integrated with the toilet flush in such a way that each flushing releases perfumes. In line with Indian Railway’s vision to keep tracks defecation free, the coaches have been fitted with bio-toilets.

            The train has an extensive fire and smoke detection system with six CCTV cameras and 10 smoke detectors and four heat detectors fitted in each coach. The exterior of the train has an attractive visual appeal with anti-graffiti vinyl coating.

Minister of Railways Flags Off India’s First Humsafar Train

Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu flagged off/inaugurated the first Humsafar clan of trains by launching the following services / activities through video conferencing from Rail Bhawan:
1.      Flag off of Train No 12595/12596 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar(T) HUMSAFAR EXPRESS(Bi- Weekly)(Via Basti)
2.      Flag off of 12571/12572 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar(T) HUMSAFAR EXPRESS(Weekly)(Via Barhni).
3.      Inauguration of two escalators on Platform No. 9 at Gorakhpur Railway Station.

Ministry of Railways had announced in Rail Budget 2016-17 introduction of new type of trains called Humsafar Express. Humsafar train is a fully Air Conditioned 3 AC service having facility GPS based Passenger Information System, Passenger announcement System, fire and smoke detection and suppression system, CCTVs, comfortable seats, mobile and laptop charging points, integrated Braille display, LCD display above compartment doors in the aisle, Fire retardant curtains, etc.

Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain was specially present to grace the occasion at Rail Bhawan. Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha Shri Daddan Mishra, Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha Shri Pankaj Choudhary, also graced the occasion at Rail Bhawan. Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha, Shri Yogi Adityanath, Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha Shri Jagdambika Pal, graced the occasion at Gorakhpur Railway Station. Chairman, Railway Board, Shri A. K. Mital, other Railway Board Members and senior officials were also present on the occasion .

Speaking on the occasion Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, said that at the time of budget our Government decided to launch 4 new products viz, Humsafar, Antyodaya, UDAY and Tejas. Among these First Humsafar Express is launched today catering to Uttar Pradesh. Similarly Gatimaan Express, Mahamana Express were also first launched in Uttar Pradesh. This Humsafar Train has latest technologies like Vinyl wrapping, high quality curtains, Passenger information system which will enhance the user experience of travelling in this train. This train also has safety features like fire & smoke detection system and most of the parts are made of fire resistant materials. He also promised that Escalators will be installed in all the major Railways Stations on priority basis. He said that more Humsafar trains will be launched soon.

Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain expressed that he wished this train will be a good service to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He further said that this is a very happy moment for the people of Gorakhpur. He also congratulated Railways for this first Humsafar Train.

The Humsafar coaches offer better facilities / amenities for the passengers, some of which are listed below:

1. Aesthetically pleasing colour scheme with anti-graffiti coating and distinctive 3D numbering on the exterior.

2. Pleasing interiors with attractive and colourfully co-ordinated seats, berths, partitions, curtains, improved/hygienic toilets, film type mirrors, etc.

3. Deodorizer, Dustbins, Sleek bottle holders in the cabins

4. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance of the common areas of the coaches.

5. Integrated Braille displays for the visually impaired.

6. Hygienic lavatories with odour flushing system

7. Global Positioning System (GPS) based Passenger information system

8. Passenger announcement system

9. Fire and Smoke detection system in the coaches.

10. Fire detection and suppression system in the Power cars

11. Equipped with Auto Vending Machine and Mini Pantry with Oven/Fridge

A total of 10 Humsafar trains have been announced by the Ministry of Railways in the new time table.

The fare structure of this train which will have AC - 3 Tier will be as follows:

Out of the total accommodation 10% of total accommodation shall be earmarked as tatkal quota. There is also provision for HO quota/duty pass quota. The first block of 50% after 10% tatkal and HO quota shall be booked on the base fare for Humsafar train and thereafter a 10% increase for every 10% increase in the passenger block for the remaining 50%.

Base dare of AC-3 Tier of Humsafar Train shall be 1.15 times of the base fare of AC-3 Tier superfast Mail/Express trains, which shall be applicable for the first passenger block of 50% and thereafter a 10% increase for every 10% increase in the passenger block for the remaining 50%. Fare of tatkal quota shall be 1.5 times of Humsafar basic fares. Other charges shall be levied separately.



● Other charges like reservation fee, superfast surcharge, service tax, etc. as applicable shall be levied separately. Catering charges shall be optional for meals. The fare of Humsafar is inclusive of bedroll charges.

● The advance reservation period will be 120 days.

● Normal Child fare rules apply. No concessional tickets and tickets against free complimentary passes which are not reimbursed shall be admissible in this train.

● Defence warrants will be eligible for exchange as per the actual fare.

● Vacant berths left after first charting would be offered for current booking shall be sold at the last price sold for that class with 10% discount on last price and other supplementary charges like reservation fee, superfast charges, service tax, etc. as applicable will be levied in full.

● The last price of tickets for the train should be printed in the reservation chart for the purpose of charging of difference of fare in the train or charging the passengers of the train without ticket, etc. 10% discount in the last price shall also be applicable for allotment of vacant berths in the train by TTEs.

● Normal cancellation and refund rules apply.
