The Project - Physical Progress
 
In the case of Civil Works earthwork, filling in bank and work on cuttings was complete. In case of blanketing 97.4% had been completed. With respect to Bridges out of 90 Minor bridges two bridges only remained to be completed. Work on 2 Road Under Bridges in Bharuch town had been completed. Three major bridges were also complete. The full requirement of rails and sleepers had been received and 83.33% of ballast had been received. Track Linking had been completed on 62 Km of 65 Km in case of main lines and 5.20 Km of loop lines out of a total of 11.5 Km. Currently in the last two weeks of June Tie Tamping of the track by machines is in progress.
 
Signalling Works are in progress though they have been delayed. 63 Km of 120 km of indoor cabling and 123 km of 480 km of outdoor cabling is complete. Although Signalling works at some stations like Bharuch Tham, Vagra, and Pakhajan are expected to be completed by end of August’11 work at other stations may be delayed to a later date.,/p>
 
In case of electrification the work on foundation and erection of masts and provision of fittings has been completed to the extent of 86% to 95% in case of various items. Wiring has been completed to the extent of Catenary 80% & Contact wire76%. Laying of a Transmission line, work at the Traction Sub-Station and all electrification works should be completed by August ‘11.
 
It is expected that train running on the section will be possible by end of September 2011.
 
Overall, physical progress of the project to end of June 2011 is 92%.
