Engine gets detached from bogies

Passengers of the Mangala-Lakshadweep Express (12618), running from Nizamuddin to Ernakulam, complained that its engine got detached from the bogies on Tuesday morning. The bogies ran about 200 m from Shoranur to Cheruthuruthy railway overbridge after the engine got detached, the passengers said. A few onlookers captured images of the detached bogies using cell phone cameras. Officials at the Shoranur railway station said the locomotive had developed a technical snag, but did not comment on it getting detached from the bogies. Following the incident, a few other trains on this route got delayed.
