The newly constructed railway over bridge at Sambamurthy Nagar will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the next month, according to Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju. The Minister, along with MLA D. Chandrasekhar Reddy, inspected the ongoing works of the bridge on Saturday. The bridge was being constructed at cost of Rs. 21.5 crore at the railway level crossing number 11.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pallam Raju said the traffic snarls in the city would be eased, once the bridge was opened for vehicular traffic. He said the focus was on developing infrastructure in the city and efforts were on to construct similar bridges at Kondayyapalem and Port in the near future.
Mr. Pallam Raju said the State government categorically agreed to develop the road between Kakinada and Kathipudi as four-liner. He asked the municipal authorities to focus on improving sanitation. MLCs K.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju, A.L. Sivakumari, and MLA Pantham Gandhi Mohan were present.
