Lucknow-Chapra railway line doubling by 2013

Doubling of railway line between Lucknow and Chapra in Bihar, costing Rs 1200 crore, would be completed by year 2013, Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa said here today.''Out of total route length of 460 km, the doubling of 330 km has already been done and by March 2012, the 86 km more will be added while the entire work is to be finished by March 2013,'' he told reporters here.In addition to it, the doubling of Anannadnagar-Badhni route would also be completed by March 2012, Mr Muniyappa said.The minister said the survey work to join Basti with Kapilvastu, the Buddhist centre, had been done and the survey work to join Kushinagar on buddhist circuit with railways had also been ordered.Mr Muniyappa, who had come to attend a private function, said the railways would give job to one member each of the families of farmers whose land had been acquired for Rail Coach factory in Rae Bareli. 'The process for the same is already underway,'' he said.
