Ngp-Mum Duronto to run daily soon

 There is some good news for Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express passengers, as the train will soon start running on a daily basis. With the Central Railway receiving 10 coaches from Railway Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala (Punjab), recently, the long pending passengers' demand is likely to be fulfilled by next month-end.On Monday, Duronto coaches were spotted at the Kalyan railway station yard. Sources said these coaches would be moved to the Dadar coaching depot for various checks."We need 24 coaches to run the Duronto daily. Currently, we have received only 10 coaches and expect to get the remaining coaches soon. Increasing frequency of Duronto is a budgetary decision and we will honour that in any case," AK Singh, Central Railway public relations officer ( PRO), told TOI.The non-stop Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express service was initiated on November 21, 2009. Duronto reaches Mumbai in 11 hours and 30 minutes. With very convenient timings, the train is a hit with passengers.However, due to non-availability of coaches, frequency of the train could not be increased. With one rake, the train currently runs thrice a week.At present, the train runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Nagpur and on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from Mumbai.
