More stops at Edappally Station soon

The Allepey-Chennai Express is expected to get a two-way stop soon at Edappally Railway Station. Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Agarwal said on Monday that he will consider the demand put up by the residents’ associations in this regard.
Edapally Vikasana Samithi General Secretary P K Sajeevan said that currently the Allepey-Chennai Express has only a one-way stop at Edappally. “The train only stops here on its way to Chennai. But we are demanding that it a stop be provided for the Ernakulam-bound train too, because presently, people have to unnecessarily travel till Ernakulam Junction station,” he said.
The residents’ associations are also demanding that the railways provide a stop at Edappally for the Guruvayoor-Thiruvananthapuram Inter-city Express. “If this train is allowed a stoppage here, it will benefit the public,” said Francis K A, Edraach Treasurer. Union Minister K V Thomas and Hibi Eaden MLA are also striving to get stops for trains at the station.
