Railways have provided one-minute stops at Kayamkulam and Mavelikara for train no. 12257/12258 Garib Rath tri-weekly express, connecting Yeswanthpur and Kochuveli, on an experimental basis for six months.
The 12081/12082 Jan Shatabdi Express, connecting Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, via Kottayam, also gets a trial one-minute stop at Mavelikara for six months.
Trial stop
The trial stop at Kayamkulam for the Garib Rath Express will be from August 21 to February 20, with train no. 12257 from Yeswanthpur leaving the station at 10.30 a.m. and train no. 12258 from Kochuveli at 6.35 p.m.
The stop at Mavelikara for this train will be from August 19 to February 12, with train no. 12257 leaving the station at 10.20 a.m. and the pairing train at 6.45 p.m.
The Jan Shatabdi Express gets the additional stop from August 18 to February 17, with train no. 12081 from Kozhikode leaving Mavelikara at 11.37 a.m. and the pairing train at 3.58 p.m. The train operates five days a week.
