62 SPECIAL TRAINS PROVIDED AND 2676 ADDITIONAL BERTHS AUGMENTED IN DIFFERENT REGULAR TRAINS TO AVOID RUSH.


About 02 Lakhs 83 Thousand 838 additional berths have been created by East Coast Railway to clear the wait listed passengers during the first half of the current financial year i.e. from April 2012 to September 2012.

Additional berths have been created by augmenting 2676 additional coaches in different regular trains originating from East Coast Railway jurisdiction to different destinations of the country.

Similarly, this railway has run 62 Special trains towards different destinations from its jurisdiction which have provided additional berths to the commuters travelling to their destinations during the last six months.

In view to provide passengers comfort to the commuters and also to clear the huge wait list passengers during the peak season, East Coast Railway has taken steps to augment additional coaches in different regular mail/express trains.

This Railway is also running special trains towards New Delhi, Kolkata, Quilon, Nanded, Chennai, Sai Nagar Shirdi, Asansol and Hyderabad from it’s jurisdiction to avoid rush in regular trains and expected to provide about 75 Thousand additional reserved berths to the passengers during the third quarter of the current financial year i.e. from October to December 2012 from these special trains.
