  3. In order to evacuate the passengers stranded in Uttrakhand due to floods in Utterakhand hills Northern Railway has made following arrangements:
  4. ·Such passengers who were stranded in the flood affected area of Uttarakhand are being evacuated from Haridwar and Dehradun free of charge.
  5. ·On 20.06.2013 Moradabad Division of Northern Railway operated two special trains one from Haridwar to Lucknow and the other Haridwar to Delhi and cleared around2700 passengers yesterday.
  6. ·Two special trains have been arranged to depart from Haridwar to Mumbai Central and other from Haridwar to Lucknow today (21.06.2013). Mumbai flood Relief Special train planned to depart from Haridwar at 8.15 p.m. and the Lucknow special will depart from Haridwar at 6.30 p.m. today.
  7. ·A special train has been arranged from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Secunderabad to depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9.30 p.m. today which will arrive at Secunderabad at 4.00 a.m. on 23.06.2013.
  8. ·Additional coaches have also been arranged which are being attached to the regular trains to accommodate the flood affected passengers to proceed for their destinations.
  9. ·The officers are camping at Rishikesh, Dehradun & Haridwar stations and co-ordinating with Authorities of Sate Govt. and ensuring proper dispersal of passengers and also monitoring availability of passenger conveniences at these stations
  10. ·Arrangement for revalidation of tickets of those passengers who were stranded in flood affected areas of Uttrakhand even the expiry of validity of tickets.
  11. ·Special arrangements have been made at these stations to refund the fare against the tickets of flood affected passengers. To refund the fare against such tickets at these station Refund Rules have been relaxed so that affected passengers may get refund against their tickets or revalidate for undertaking their journey to their destination on the same ticket.
  12. ·PRS (Computerized Passenger Reservation) Counters at Haridwar, Dehradun & Rishikesh have been made functional round the clock. Arrangements for opening of 10 extra counters at short notice have also been made.
  13. ·Doctors and Paramedical staff have been deployed with adequate provisions to meet with any exigencies at these stations round the clock.
  14. ·Elaborative arrangements for catering, medical assistance etc. have been made at Delhi Jn., New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway stations for those passengers who are being cleared from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun. General second class coaches are being earmarked for stranded passengers for onward journey.Senior officers have been deployed at these stations who are managing dispersal of stranded passengers by convenient trains.
  15. ·NGO’s have also joined hands with railway authorities at these stations and providing food, water bottles, etc. to the passengers.
