No. 17224 Kurnool City-Secunderabad Intercity Express (Daily) & Train No. 77696 Kurnool City-Nandyal DEMU Passenger (five days in week) at a function to be held at Kurnool City Railway Station at 10 00 hrs on 25th June, 2013 (Tuesday). These trains were announced in the Rail Budget-2013.

Regular Timings of Kurnool City-Secunderabad-Kurnool City Intercity Express (Daily):- After its inaugural run, this Intercity Express will run to its scheduled timings for its run from Secunderabad to Kurnool City on the same day (ie, 25thJune, 2013). Accordingly, Train No. 17223 Secunderabad-Kurnool City Intercity Express will depart Secunderabad at 16 45 hrs, Kacheguda at 17 02 hrs, Falaknuma at 17 15 hrs, Umdanagar at 17 37 hrs, Timmapur at 17 50 hrs, Shadnagar at 18 00 hrs, Jadcherla at 18 35 hrs, Mahbubnagar at 18 50 hrs, Wanaparti Road at 19 30 hrs, Sriramnagar at 19 42 hrs, Gadwal at 20 00 hrs and arrive Kurnool Town at 21 35 hrs on the same day.
In the return direction, Train No.17224 Kurnool City-Secunderabad Intercity Express will depart Kurnool City at 6 05 hrs, on Gadwal at 07 00 hrs, Sriramnagar at 07 10 hrs, Wanaparti Raod at 07 20 hrs, Mahabubnagar at 08 00 hrs, Jadcherla at 08 20 hrs, Shadnagar at 08 50 hrs, Timmapur at 09 02 hrs, Umdanagar at 09 30 hrs, Falaknuma at 09 45 hrs and arrive Secunderabad at 10 45 hrs. These trains will have 18 Coaches Viz., 14 General Second Class, one AC Chair Car, one Pantry Car and two General Second Class cum Brake Van Coaches.

Accordingly, Train No. 77696 Kurnool City-Nandyal DEMU Passenger will depart Kurnool City on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 17 30 hrs, Veldurti at 18 20 hrs, Dhone at 19 30 hrs, Bethemcherla at 20 12 hrs and arrive Nandyal at 22 10 hrs on the same day. This train will stop at all the stations enroute.
In the return direction, Train No. 77695 Nandyal-Kurnool City DEMU Passenger Train will depart Nandyal at 06 15 hrs on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Bethemcherla at 07 20 hrs, Dhone at 09 05 hrs, Veldurti at 09 30 hrs and arrive Kurnool City at 10 20 hrs on the same day. This train will stop at all the stations En-route.

1. The Historic city of Kurnool is at present connected by Rail to the twin-cities through 5 daily Express, 11 non-daily Express and 4 Passenger trains.

There have been several demands from the passengers of this region for an early morning Express service from Kurnool, arriving Secunderabad before noon so that people can attend their works in Hyderabad and return back the same day. In response to the public demand, this new Intercity Express has been designed to leave Kurnool City in the early hours at 06:05 hrs. to reach Secunderabad by 10:45 hrs.
3. This new Intercity Express announced in Rail Budget - 2013, will be helpful in enhancing the Rail connectivity from Kurnool, key District Headquarters city to the State Capital. It serves as a useful service opposite to the popular Tungabhadra Express, which leaves early in the morning from Secunderabad to Kurnool.
4. This train will be beneficial to various sections of people like students, employees and businessmen etc., from the towns situated enroute like Gadwal, Mahaboobnagar, Jadcherla and Shadnagar etc., as it provides an economical and comfortable day travel facility to Hyderabad and Kurnool. This train covers a distance of 244 kms. in 4 hrs. 40 minutes only.
5. The composition of the train: 14 General Second Sitting, 1 AC Chair car, 1 Pantry Car and 2 General Second sitting cum Luggage Brake vans, totaling to 18 coaches.

Honouring the representations from the people of Kurnool District to enhance the rail connectivity between these two fast growing areas, a new DEMU passenger between Kurnool City and Nandyal has been announced in Railway Budget - 2013.
2. This new DEMU service stops at all the Stations enroute and brings the people of several villages and towns like Veldurthi, Dhone, Rangapuram and Bethamcherla etc., much closer by providing an affordable and convenient Public travel facility.
3. This passenger service will be of immense use for various sections of commuters on this route, especially students, employees and traders in travelling to their nearest towns either towards Nandyal or Kurnool City.
4. The composition of the train consists of 2 Diesel Power Cars and 6 Train Cars.
