WR COMES UP WITH A BOOK ON STAFF BENEFITS FOR ITS EMPLOYEES TO GIVE DETAILS OF WELFARE SCHEMES

For the first time, Western Railway has come up with a book o­n staff benefit for its employees. The book called "A Guide o­n Staff Benefit Fund" will provide all the details of the benefits available under Staff Benefit Fund to the Non Gazetted staff of the Western Railway o­n the basis of various schemes decided by the Railway Board and Central Staff Benefit Committee from time to time. It was released by Shri S. Bhattacharya, Chief Personnel Officer at Western Railway HQ Office, Churchgate, and Mumbai o­n 6th June, 2013 in the presence of Shri A.K. Sinha, Chief Personnel Officer (Industrial Relation) & Shri S.B. Marshale, Dy. Chief Personnel Officer, Western Railway and senior officer bearers of the recognised trade unions.



This book will spread awareness among the staff about the latest Railway Board circulars and policy decisions from time to time in Central Staff Benefit Fund meetings and will also help, guide and educated them about the welfare schemes as per their entitlement. It will help all employees including Gangmen, Safaiwalas, Khallasis etc. to avail the benefits of Staff Benefit Fund by bringing education as well as transparency in the affairs of Central Staff Benefit Fund Committee.



The welfare activities under taken by the Staff Benefit Fund includes Scholarships, Financial aids (as in maintenance allowance and in serious diseases), Assistance to handicapped wards, Cultural Activities, Funeral rites, medical aid for denture, Staff Camps, Grants to Bal Mandirs, Railway Schools, Holiday Homes, Hostels, Creches, Institutes, Community Halls, Women Empowerment and in many more similar activities.



On Western Railway, Central Staff Benefit Fund Committee is headed by Chief Personnel Officer with officers of Personnel, Medical & Accounts departments alongwith the representatives of recognised trade unions as its members. There are Divisional Staff Benefit Fund Committee in all six divisions of Western Railway.



Western Railway has also got printed attractive coloured posters for the information and awareness of its employees about the benefits/staff welfare schemes. More than 100000 employees including staff of Railway Protection Force of Western Railway will be benefitted by this book.
