Over 25 Lakh Passengers Travel By Delhi Metro on 08th August Sets Highest Ridership Record So far
The Delhi Metro achieved another milestone on Thursday, 08thAugust, 2013 when over 25 lakh people traveled on the Metro throughout the day. Delhi Metro recorded the highest ever ridership figure of25,04,900on08th August, 2013, which surpassed the earlier record set on 29th July2013, when 24,25,897people traveled by the Metro. The linewise breakup of ridership for 08th August, 2013 is given below:

 In a major step towards tackling the issue of overcrowding in the trains, DMRC will also introduce the first ever eight coach train on line ¾ (Dwarka Sector 21 – NOIDA City Centre/ Vaishali) by end of this month. Two eight coach trains are currently being tested for commissioning into services.
24eight coach trains are currently running on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri – HUDA City Centre) after the introduction of the first such train on 24th December last year. A total of 68 trains are being converted to eight coaches. The present break up of four, eight and six coach trains on the Delhi Metro network as per time table is as follows:
