Delhi Metro Introduces Addiotional Trains on Line-6 both Platforms can be used for boarding trains going towards badarpur at central secretariat metro station of line-6

The Delhi Metro has introduced two additional trains on Line-6 (Central Secretariat to Badarpur) from today, making it a total of 22 trains in passenger service on this line. The move is aimed at better passenger handling, especially at the interchange station of Central Secretariat.

Till now, only one Platform was being used for boarding and deboarding of passengers at Central Secretariat Metro station of Line-6. However, with the introduction of these two additional trains, it has been made possible that passengers can now avail the trains from both the platforms alternately for going towards Badarpur. This move has also ensured the increase in frequency of trains on this line from 3 minute 44 seconds to 3 minute 25 seconds and trains will also run 13 extra trips making it a total of 401 trips.

Since both the platforms are being used and alternate trains would be available at both the platforms at Central Secretariat regularly during the morning peak hours (8:30 am to 11:00 am), the passengers are advised not to rush to other platform.

Presently, the average ridership of Line-6 is 1.60 Lakh. The Delhi Metro’s network is among the fastest growing networks in the world, it has grown to 190 kms of operational network since it has started its operations in 2002 and is presently carrying about 25 Lakh passengers every day.
