Fortress Check at Secunderabad Railway Station Yields Rs 7.67 Lakh

Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway conducted a fortress check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabadstation o­n 18th August, 2014.  The Check was conducted under the direct supervision of Shri M. Sarjana Rao, Chief Commercial Manager/Passenger Marketing, South Central Railway, Shri P. Ravi Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Shri P. Raghunatha Reddy, Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division SCR.

164 Ticket checking staff carried out the drive and checked the tickets of each passenger. During the fortress check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the fortress check. 40 Express trains,    8 Passenger trains and 40 MMTS were checked.

A total of 2218 persons, comprising of 832 persons travelling without ticket, 766persons travelling irregularly and 620 cases of un-booked luggage were detected. An amount of Rs. 7, 67, 105/- was realised towards penalty from these persons.
