SCR Initiates Action to Setup Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendras (YTSK)

As per the policy announced by the Ministry of Railways recently, South Central Railway has initiated the process of setting up Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendras (YTSK) at various locations all over the Zone with a view to expand the facilities for issue of rail journey tickets (both reserved and unreserved). The system envisages establishment and operation of the YTSKs through private participation. In this connection, SCR has issued notification o­n 11th September 2014 inviting applications from eligible individuals/agencies to setup YTSKs.
           All authorized Railway ticketing agents, including Rail Travel Service Agents (RTSAs) and Jansadharan Ticket Booking Sewaks  (JTBS) of Indian Railways and also the ticketing agents appointed by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), who have worked / currently working for atleast five years are eligible to apply under the scheme of YTSK.

            The selected licencee has to set up an office and set up counters o­n the pattern and standard at par with computerised PRS centres of Indian Railways. The licencee will be given facility of operating the reservation terminals. The terminals, PCs, ticket printers, modems and multiplexers etc., will be provided by Railways or can be purchased and maintained by the licencee.

The timings of operation of terminals in the premises of licencee for general reservation shall be from 09.00 am to 10.00 pm o­n week days and from 09.00 am to 08.00 pm o­n Sundays. The booking hours for Tatkal tickets will start from 11.00 am at these centres or as per timings specified by Ministry of Railways from time to time.
            The details of the scheme, along with application form, criteria, eligibility, terms and conditions are placed in the official website of South Central Railway -www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in. The applications along with prescribed and relevant documents should be sent in a sealed cover, superscribed as “Application for operation of Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra (YTSK)” by registered post with acknowledgement due to the Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Marketing) 1st Floor, Passenger Reservation Complex, South Central Railway, Secunderabad – 500025. Sealed applications can also be handed over in person in the office. The last date for submission of applications is o­n or before 3 pm of 13th October 2014.
