There was persistent demand from Public for introduction of direct Express Train from Mysore to Varanasi and back via Bangalore City, Yesvantpur, Bellary, Guntakal, Raichur, Gulbarga, Solapur, Kopangaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Jabalpur, etc. Considering the long pending demand, the Bi-Weekly Express Train was announced in the Railway Budget 2014-15.
The aspirations oflocal Public will be fulfilled by introducing Train Nos. 16229/16230 Mysore-Varanasi-Mysore Bi-Weekly Express on the Day ofChristmas. The train will be flagged off by Shri Pratap Simha, Hon’ble Member of Parliament(Mysore-Kodugu) and Shri Vasu, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly(Chamaraj) in the presence ofother Public representatives and dignitaries to be held in the morning at 07-20 a.m. on Thursday, the 25th December, 2014, at MYSORE RAILWAY STATION.Shri Rajkumar Lal, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysore Division and other Senior railway officials & staff will be present on the occasion.
