Delhi Metro`s website unveiled with new features and additional attractions.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) official website – www.delhimetrorail.com, was relaunched today with many new user friendly features as well as additional attractions for the convenience of the commuters.

DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Mangu Singh formally unveiled the new revamped website today in the presence of senior officials from Delhi Metro.

A ‘passenger information’ section has been introduced on the home page of the new site, where the commuters will be able to get all the necessary information pertaining to Metro operations. A dynamic ‘journey planner and fares’ link has been provided here, through which the commuters can easily find out the fare, route, intervening stations, interchange points and travel time between any two stations on the network.

Another new feature is the availability of ‘first’ and ‘last’ train timings from all stations on the network. Earlier, only the ‘first’ and ‘last’ train timings of respective corridors were available, but now the ‘first’ and ‘last’ train timings from each station can be checked by the commuters.

Now the commuters will also be able to check the details about the availability of ATMs at Metro stations. They can get details about the availability of ATMs at each station and simultaneously can also select the name of the bank from a drop down menu and find out which stations have ATMs from the particular bank.

All other relevant information such as network map, parking facilities, feeder bus routes, Airport Express line details, Lost and found facility, Metro Police stations details etc have also been provided. This section also has dedicated links detailing facilities available for women as well as the differently abled commuters.

The new revamped website also is compatible for browsing on both tablets and smartphones. Its home page has been redesigned with a new look with large photographs and easy to browse links. A commuter survey has been put up on the home page so that commuters can easily give their feedback about their travel experience. Micro sites on DMRC’s training institute as well as the Metro Museum are also attached with the site.

The website has now emerged as one of the primary sources of information for people planning to travel by the Delhi Metro, therefore, a decision to revamp the site was taken. The websites of other Metro systems such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and London were thoroughly studied to elevate the Delhi Metro website to international standards.

Approximately, 11 lakh hits were received by the Delhi Metro website during the month of December, 2014. Apart from India, users from many other countries such as USA, Spain, UK, Singapore, UAE, Germany, Canada, Australia and Japan also visited the site.
