CENTRE FOR TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT (CTRAM), NEW DELHI HOLDS FIRST MEETING OF ITS NEWLY CONSTITUTED GOVERNING COUNCIL

The newly-elected Governing Council of Centre for Transportation Research and Management (CTRAM), New Delhi, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Railways, held its first Meeting yesterday (10.03.2015) at New Delhi. Shri Ajay Shukla, Member Traffic, Railway Board and ex-officio President, CTRAM presided over the Meeting. Shri D.P.Pande, Former Member Traffic, Railway Board and senior Railway officers were also present o­n the occasion. Shri Rakesh Tandon, Retd. Additional Member (Catering & Tourism) and Former Managing Director of IRCTC was nominated as the Executive Director-cum-Secretary, CTRAM by the Governing Council. Members deliberated o­n the broad action plan for the organization during the year 2015. They also discussed various other initiatives and issues having relevance to improvements to Railways’ image and its working.

One of the key objectives of CTRAM is to provide a forum for cross – sectoral and cross – functional dialogue between policymaking professionals and academics o­n issues pertaining to transportation with special focus o­n the dynamic developments unfolding in the transport sector in India. CTRAM has already conducted thirteen National seminars o­n issues pertaining to transport industry in general and Indian Railways in particular.
