Mangaluru-Nagercoil Ernad Express train to be partially cancelled

The Mangaluru-Nagercoil Ernad Express (train no 16605) will be partially cancelled between Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil stations on January 8, as the railways is taking up construction of a subway at Valode level-crossing gate between Kulithurai and Eraniyel stations in Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil section. Subsequently, the Nagercoil-Mangaluru Ernadu Express (train no 16606) on January 9 will also remain partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, train traffic was disrupted for nearly an hour on Tuesday morning in the Thrissur-Ernakulam stretch after a crack was detected in the down line near Irinjalakkuda railway station. Special trains: Authorities have also informed that the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central Special (train no 06122) scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram at 7pm on Wednesday and reaching Chennai Central at 11.30am on Thursday has vacant berths in all classes. Another special fare-special train between Ernakulam and Howrah (train no 02854) will leave Ernakulam at 8.50am on January 12 and 19. The train will Howrah next day at 11 pm. Reservation is already started.
