To overcome the problems faced in management of train operations during foggy season, a complete plan to create capacity and rectify abnormally late running of trains was devised by reducing the frequency of trains that run on sectors badly affected by fog from 8th January, 2016 to 29th February, 2016. This was based on previous year’s experience which indicated that despite severe capacity constraints due to reduced speed/mobility during fog, particularly over highly saturated sectors, Indian Railway was running a very high number of trains.
However, concerns have been raised from various quarters due to such a large number of cancellations during the current foggy season and inconvenience likely to be caused to the passengers due to non availability of train services during the cancellation period.
.In view of this it has been decided to reduce the number of cancellations proposed earlier during the ongoing foggy season from 15th January, 2016 as per the plan given below:
A)All Rajdhani Express which was earlier cancelled due to fog will be completely restored with effect from 15thJanuary, 2016.
B)All Shatabdi Express which was earlier cancelled due to fog will be completely restored with effect from 15thJanuary, 2016.
