Apart from the traffic Blocks, the changes in yard layouts necessitates the
restriction on movement of trains in some directions. Due to traffic blocks and change in yard
layouts, there is a need to change the pattern of Suburban as well as Mail/ Express trains.
Change in pattern of train services includes cancellation and diversion of Suburban
services, diversion of Mail/express trains Via Perambur- Vyaserpadi –Korukkupet. The final Phase
of execution of 5th and 6th line between MMC & BBQ is spread over 46 days from 23/08/2016 to
07/10/2016.
The major changes in pattern of suburban services from Moore Market Complex towards Arakkonam are
from 13/09/2016 to 18/09/2016 (6 days.). Whereas the major changes in the pattern of suburban
services from Moore Market Complex to Gummidipundi/ Sullurupetta is from 13/09/2016 to 26/09/16 (14
days). As regards Mail/Express trains, 2 daily, 3 Tri weekly, 5 Bi-weekly and 7 weekly
trains are diverted Via Perambur and T.No 12840 Chennai Central –Howrah Train is slated to be
started from Chennai Beach during this period from 06/09/16 to 07/10/2016 (32

Diversion of Mail/Express Trains:
From 06/09/2016 to 07/10/2016 (32 days), the following Mail/Express trainsare diverted to run via Perambur –Vyaserpadi - Korukkpet. Passengers bound
to entrain/detrain these trains at Chennai Central are requested to train/detrain at Perambur during this period.
Diversion of Mail/Express Trains:
From 06/09/2016 to 07/10/2016 (32 days), the following Mail/Express trains are diverted to run
via Perambur –Vyaserpadi - Korukkpet. Passengers bound to entrain/detrain these trains at
Chennai Central are requested to entrain/detrain at Perambur during this period.
The following diverted trains are not available for passengers at Chennai

From Avadi
From 13/09/2016 to 16/09/2016 & 19/09/2016- 26/09/2016, MEMU trains to Sullurupetta / Nellore trains are available from & to Avadi instead of Moore Market Complex.
Regular EMU Services from Moore Market Complex Station towards
Gummidipundi/Sullurupetta/Nellore are available from 27/09/2016.
Diversion of EMUs from MMC to Chennai Beach:
From 27.09.2016 (Tuesday) to 07.10.2016 (Friday), two pair of EMUs (T.No to/from Moore Market is diverted to/from Chennai Beach. ( T.No 42422 SPE – M M C leaving SPE at 21.40 hrs ; & T.No 42002 GPD – MMC, leaving GPD at 02.45 hrs diverted to Chennai Beach); (T.No 42001 MMC to GPD leaving MMC at 00.15 hours will be started from MSB at 00.15 hours & T.NO 42401
MMC – SPE leaving MMC at 04.25 hours will be started from MSB instead of
MMC at 04.15 hours).
Diversion of Mail/Express Trains
To facilitate engineering works for commissioning the 5th & 6th line between Chennai Central – Basin Bridge Jn., many Mail / Express trains originating from Southern Railway and other zonal Railways, presently running via Chennai Central, will be diverted via Perambur, Vyaserpadi and Korukkupet stations with a stop at Perambur from 06.09.2016 to 07.10.2016. The details are
provided below:
A. Trains originating from Southern Railway:
1. Train No.13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.00 hrs. from 06th September, 2016 to 06th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 22.15 hrs. and leave Perambur at 22.35 hrs.
2. Train No.12512 Thiruvananthapuram – Gorakhpur Raptisagar express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.25 hrs. on 06th, 07th, 11th, 13th, 14th,
18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th & 28th September, 2016 and 02nd, 04th & 05th October,
2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 22.50 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.10 hrs.
3. Train No.22648 Thiruvananthapuram – Korba express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.25 hrs. on 08th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd, 26th & 29th September, 2016 and 03rd & 06th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 22.50 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.10 hrs.
4. Train No.12522 Ernakulam Jn. – Barauni Jn. express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.25 hrs. on 09th, 16th, 23rd & 30th September, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 22.50 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.10 hrs.
5. Train No.22646 Thiruvananthapuram – Indore express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.25 hrs. on 10th, 17th & 24th September, 2016 and 01st October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 22.50 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.10 hrs.
B. Trains originating from other Zonal Railways:
1. Train No.13351 Dhanbad – Allapuzha express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 02.00 hrs. from 07th September, 2016 to 07th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 01.35 hrs. and leave Perambur at 02.00 hrs.
2. Train No.12688 Chandigarh / Dehradun – Madurai express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 02.40 hrs. on 07th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 25th & 28th September, 2016 and 02nd & 05th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 02.15 hrs. and leave Perambur at 02.40 hrs.
3. Train No.12511 Gorakhpur – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.50 hrs. on 09th, 10th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd,
24th, 26th & 30th September, 2016 and 01st & 03rd October, 2016 will not touch
Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 23.35 hrs. and leave Perambur at
23.55 hrs.
4. Train No.22647 Korba – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 23.50 hrs. on 08th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 25th & 29th September, 2016 and 02nd & 06th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 23.35 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.55 hrs.
5. Train No.22645 Indore – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave
Chennai Central at 23.50 hrs. on 06th, 13th, 20th & 27th September, 2016 and
04th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at
23.35 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.55 hrs.
6. Train No.12521 Barauni Jn. – Ernakulam Jn. express, scheduled to leave
Chennai Central at 23.50 hrs. on 07th, 14th, 21st & 28th September, 2016 and
05th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at
23.35 hrs. and leave Perambur at 23.55 hrs.
7. Train No.22644 Patna Jn. – Ernakulam Jn. express, scheduled to leave
Chennai Central at 04.15 hrs. on 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th & 25th September,
2016 and 01st & 02nd October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 03.55 hrs. and leave Perambur at 04.15 hrs.
8. Train No.22642 Shalimar – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 04.15 hrs. on 08th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th & 29th September, 2016 and 04th & 06th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 03.55 hrs. and leave Perambur at 04.15 hrs.
9. Train No.15228 Muzaffarpur Jn. – Yesvantpur express, scheduled to leave
Chennai Central at 04.15 hrs. on 07th, 14th, 21st & 28th September, 2016 and
05th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at
03.55 hrs. and leave Perambur at 04.15 hrs.
10. Train No.12508 Guwahati – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 04.55 hrs. on 11th, 18th & 25th September, 2016 and 02nd October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 04.30 hrs. and leave Perambur at 04.55 hrs.
11. Train No.12510 Guwahati – Bengaluru Cantonment express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 04.55 hrs. on 07th, 08th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st,
22nd, 27th, 28th & 29th September, 2016 and 04th, 05th & 06th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at 04.30 hrs. and leave
Perambur at 04.55 hrs.
12. Train No.12516 Guwahati – Thiruvananthapuram express, scheduled to leave
Chennai Central at 04.55 hrs. on 09th, 16th, 23rd & 30th September, 2016 and
07th October, 2016 will not touch Chennai Central. It will reach Perambur at
04.30 hrs. and leave Perambur at 04.55 hrs.
C. Change in Originating station:
Train No.12840 Chennai Central – Howrah mail, scheduled to leave Chennai
Central at 23.45 hrs., will instead leave from Chennai Beach railway station at
23.45 hrs. from 06th September, 2016 to 06th October, 2016.
D. Delay in arrival:
Train No.12839 Howrah – Chennai Central mail, scheduled to reach Chennai Central at 03.45 hrs., will be regulated / delayed at a convenient station and reach Chennai Central at 05.15 hrs. from 07th September, 2016 to 07th October, 2016.
E. Connecting EMU trains at Perambur to Chennai Beach:
For connecting passengers arriving by Train No.13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha express at Perambur, an EMU train will be kept ready at Perambur to go to Chennai Beach railway station. This train will leave as a passenger special EMU from Avadi at 01.15 hrs. and will reach Perambur at 01.35 hrs. It will proceed to Chennai Beach after connecting the passengers arriving at Perambur by Dhanbad – Alappuzha express.
F. Connecting EMU trains at Perambur to Avadi, Tiruvallur:
For connecting passengers arriving by Train No.13351 Dhanbad – Alappuzha express at Perambur, Train No.43801 Chennai Beach – Arakkonam EMU local, leaving Chennai Beach at 01.20 hrs. will be available at Perambur. This will be a connecting train for passengers proceeding towards Avadi, Thiruvallur and Arakkonam.
