To review the system for facilitating accommodation for emergency travel of defence personnel, a meeting was held by Shri Ajeet Saxena, Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway with Commander of Embarkation Headquarters of Southern Command on 3.10.2016.
To further strengthen the system, CCM has ordered that in addition to the existing help lines and EQ numbers already available all over Southern Railway, a dedicated fax line with number 044-25353148 has been assigned for exclusive use by defence personnel.The number which will be manned by CCM’s secretariat can be used by defence personnel to send their EQ requests.The fax can be sent between 10.00 hrs. to 17.00 hrs. on working days. The Commercial Department of Southern Railway will use their good offices to extend support for the travel requirements of defence personnel over other Railways also.
It is requested that the defence personnel may send their requisitions for assistance well in advance to the assigned officials who have been instructed to extend overriding priority to soldiers within the discretionary powers of EQ officers.
