Reservation of rail tickets for senior citizens will be directly linked to Aadhaar or Unique Identification (UID) cards,for availing concessions, in a two phased manner. .In the first phase, it will be optional during January-March 2017 and in the second, it will be mandatory at both counter and e-tickets.
1.From 1st January to 31st March 2017, Aadhaar verification for getting concessional tickets for senior citizens shall be on voluntary basis.
