The timing assessment trial of Talgo coaches carried out on 10th and 11th September, 2016 on New Delhi-Mumbai section was done at maximum permissible speed of 150 kmph. The trial train took 11 hours and 42 minutes against the travel time of 15 hours and 50 minutes taken by Train no. 12952, New Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani Express.
The trial was limited to assessment of timing and detailed technical assessment with regard to complete compatibility with Indian Railway’s fixed infrastructure and other requirements was outside the scope of the trial. No decision has been taken for the purchase of these coaches.
