In continuation of the efforts of Indian Railways in making railway services more accessible, a new daily express train service – ‘Palaruvi’ Express – is to be introduced between Punalur – Palakkad Jn.
The regular services of Train No.16791 / 16792 Punalur – Palakkad Jn. – Punalur ‘Palaruvi’ daily express trains will commence on 20.04.2017, Thursday as per the following timings:
Composition:General Second Class – 9 and Luggage-cum-brake van – 2coaches.
Inaugural Run – Function:
Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, will flag off Train No.16791 / 16792 Punalur – Palakkad Jn. – Punalur ‘Palaruvi’ daily express trains during a function to be held at Punalur railway station at 14.30 hrs. on Wednesday, the 19th April, 2017, through video conferencing from Rail Bhavan, New Delhi.
The function at Punalur railway station will be held in the august presence of Shri Adv. K. Raju, Hon’ble Minister for Forests, Animal Husbandry & Zoos, Govt. of Kerala.Shri N.K. Premachandran, Shri K. Somaprasad and Shri Kodikunnil Suresh, Hon’ble Members of Parliament will grace the occasion as Guests of Honour.Smt. Jagadamma Teacher, District Panchayat President, Kollam and Shri M.A. Rajagopal, Municipal Chairman, Punalur will be the Special Invitees.
However, Train No.06791, the inaugural special train, will run to open timings from Punalur to Ernakulam Town only on 19.04.2017.
