Central Railway has provided 100% LED lights at 170 stations. The replacement of conventional lights with the LED Lights will reduce the Electricity bill upto 40% and the new LED Lights will also reduce the maintenance cost as well. LED light fittings have been provided at 16 stations during the Month of June 2017.
The 170 stations include 34 suburban Stations where LED lights have been provided. These LED Lights will save cost on electricity bill upto Rs. 35 lakh per annum on Mumbai Division of Central Railway.
