Gauthami Express & Cocanada Express Extended to Lingampalli from 9th April, 2018

Two of the popular trains of South Central Railway, Gautami Express and Cocanada Express have been extended from Secunderabad upto Lingampalli with stoppage at Begumpet with effect from 9th April, 2018. With these extensions, people from Hi-tech city and Lingampalli areas need not to come to Secunderabad station to board these two trains.

Hyderabad city has vastly grown on its western part, which is far off from Secunderabad station and thus inconvenient to the people living in areas like Hi-tech city, Kukatpally and Miyapur. The residents of these areas have been demanding trains from nearby railway stations to coastal Andhra region. These extensions have fulfilled their long standing demand.

South Central Railway has completed the development of Lingampalli station for stabling, cleaning and watering of coaches of these two trains. New station building, which includes a new Booking Office, Upper Class Waiting Hall, Ladies Waiting Hall, General Waiting Hall and new Foot Over Bridge have been completed for convenience of passengers.

These extensions will help in reducing congestion at Secunderabad station during morning hours, when trains get held up in the approach of Secunderabad station for want of platform. Extension of these two trains will result in decongestion and thereby avoid 15-20 minutes detention to Secunderabad bound trains like Charminar Express, Visakhapatnam Garibrath Express, Visakhapatnam AC express, Jaipur Express and Repalle Express.
