Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India Shri Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated five infrastructure related Railway Projects today at Bhubaneswar New Railway Station. Shri Pradhan dedicated Bhubaneswar New Station to the public and inaugurated 6 meter wide 3rd Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, New MEMU Shed at Khurda Road Railway Station, New PRS Counter at Bagala Dharmashala, Puri and launched Rath Yatra Mobile App through video conferencing.
Addressing the august gathering, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Railways for providing 5 gifts to the people of Odisha before commencement of famous Car Festival. Shri Pradhan stated that people of this area were eagerly waiting this new station, as Bhubaneswar City is expanding rapidly. He welcomed the introduction of new MEMU train between Puri and Angul and said that the people of Talcher, Angul, Cuttack, Puri and other areas will be highly benefitted with this new service. Shri Pradhan appreciated and congratulated East Coast Railway for introduction of 184 special trains to run during world famous Car Festival, which is more than the last year. Shri Pradhan also also appreciated the construction of new Foot Over Bridge, which is 6 meter wide, at Bhubaneswar Railway station in a record time of 150 days. He also lauded the efforts of Railway Engineers in re-construction of a damaged river bridge near Theruvali.
General Manager, East Coast Railway Shri Umesh Singh while addressing the function stated that after operationalisation of the Bhubaneswar New Railway Station, the congestion of train movement between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar will be overcome and it will be future Rail Terminal for some originating trains, which will help passengers in northern part of Bhubaneswar.
Among others Shri Rajeev Sharma, Addl. General Manager, Shri Debaraj Panda, Principal Chief Operational Manager, Shri Ajaya Kumar Behera, Principal Chief Commercial Manager were present on the dais. Shri Brij Mohan Agrawal, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road offered vote of thanks.
