| SCR Employee wins Silver Medal at the “First World Chess Games for Disabled” |
Shri Amarnath Enagante, Junior Clerk, working at Office of the Chief Commercial Manager, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, bagged the Silver Medal at the “First World Chess Games for Disabled” held at Dresden, Germany from 24thto 30th October, 2011. The championship was conducted by the World Chess Federation.
Eight Teams form various countries comprising 36 participants vied for the world championship title at the Games. Shri Amarnath emerged the runners-up and bagged the Silver Medal.In yester years, Shri Amarnath clinched the National Chess Championship for Disabled in 2003 and emergedchampion at the AP Open Chess Tournaments for five times including for the year 2010.
In his in-born desire for helping the poorest of the poor, Shri Amarnath is running a home for the homeless under the name “Nenu Unnanu” for the last 11 years, where he takes care of 15 destitutes on an average at his own cost with out any donations from public.
He is actively involved in the task of blood Donation towards saving human life. For this purpose, he encourages youngsters especially College Students to enrol their name with him and spars this information to Government / Corporate Hospitals when they approach him in emergencies. He also takes up tree plantation at barren lands by securing the participation of Corporate Companies, Colleges and Schools.
He was appointed in South Central Railway under Sports recruitment quota in the year 2000
