BHUBANESWAR-KENDUJHARGARH FAST PASSENGER FLAGGED OFF
Bhubaneswar, 7th December:

The Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh fast passenger flagged off at Bhubaneswar railway station today at 11.45 a.m. by Shri Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Bhubaneswar in presence of Hon’ble MLAs Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Shri Bhagirathi Badajena, Shri Bijaya Kumar Mohanty and Shri Subarna NaikShri Indra Ghosh, General Manager, East Coast Railway (ECoR) and Shri S.K.Mohanty, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division.


                Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Patasani stated that, due to efforts of Railway Ministry and under the guidance of General Manager and his team of officers, several developmental works in this region has been speeded up and new trains are being introduced for the convenience of the passengers as well as for the tourist. Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh fast passenger will be helpful to the people of Keonjhar.

                Shri Indra Ghosh, General Manager, ECoR stated that, this year more fund is given to East Coast Railway for various projects, traffic facility works and passenger amenity works. Shri Ghosh said that, East Coast Railway has been bestowed with the responsibility of introducing eleven new trains and extension of two train services to various destinations. Seven new trains shall also pass through East Coast Railway giving substantial benefit to the valued customers.

He also informed that, out of eleven new trains announced in last Railway Budget for introduction in East Coast Railway; four new trains viz. Puri-Shalimar Weekly Express, Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda Rajyarani Tri Weekly Express, Visakhapatnam-Shalimar Weekly Express and Puri-Gandhigham Express have already been introduced. Similarly, Sambalpur-Nizamabad and Visakhapatnam-Nazimabad express trains have already been extended to Nanded.All these trains including Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh fast passenger have become possible o­nly with the timely and active assistance of Govt. of Orissa.
“Railways have made considerable progress o­n construction of new lines. We will shortly be opening the section between Lanjigarh to Bhawanipatna of Lanjigarh-Junagarh new line and Khurda Road to Begunia as a part of Khurda Road-Bolangir new line  and also Haridaspur-Jenapur 3rdline as a part of Jakhapura-Haridaspur 3rd line. Planning work o­n doubling of Puri-Delang section is also at an advance stage” added Shri Ghosh.The survey for New BG lines between Rayagada-Gopalpur, Junagarh-Ambaguda, Khurda Road-Rajathgarh bye-passing Bhubaneswar, Kantabanji-Jeypore, Sambalpur-Brahmapur, Bolangir-Nawapara, Dantewara-Malkanagiri, Talcher-Phulbani & Junagarh-Malkanagiri have been taken up in a big way and are in various stages of progressOn completion of all these projects, East Coast Railway will definitely justify its importance o­n the map of Indian Railways, said the General Manager.
Hon’ble MLAs Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Shri Bhagirathi Badajena, Shri Bijaya Kumar Mohanty and Shri Subarna Naik also spoke o­n the occasion and urged upon for infrastructure development of Railways in Orissa. Shri S. K. Mohanty, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road of East Coast Railway offered vote of thanks. Principal officers of East Coast Railway and State Government attended the function.
