Koderma-hazaribagh Rail line

rains will start operating between Koderma and Hazaribag, a distance of 79 km, from November next year, said Varun Bhartuar, general manager of East Central Railway after a meeting with MP Yashwant Sinha.
He added that out of 79 km between Koderma and Hazaribag, railway lines have already been laid on 35 km. He said, "Since there is no problem of law and order, construction is going on in full swing."
He, however, said that that now the cost of entire 207-km Koderma-Hazaribag-Barkakana-Ranchi has escalated to Rs 2,500 crore from the revised budget of Rs 1,053 crore. He further said that they had already spent Rs 1,200 crore till today against Rs 1053 crore.
Sinha had reviewed the progress of the railway construction work with senior railway and government officials. The Koderma-Hazaribag route will have nine stations, including Hazaribag. It was also announced by railway officials that the construction of a major bridge between Telaiya Dam reservoir and Koderma having 76X4 spans would be completed by June next year and only after this Koderma-Hazaribag phase will be completed.
"The salient features of this project is that it is similar to Konkan Railway project in terms of depth of cutting, height of banks and bridges," said deputy chief engineer (construction) J K Chaudhury, who is supervising the construction from Hazaribag.
