To cheer those ushering in the New Year, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) will operate its trains till 2 a.m. on January 1, 2012.
A press release said operations on Line 1 between Byappanahalli and Mahatma Gandhi Road stations will be extended beyond 10 p.m. on December 31, 2011 to 2 a.m. on January 1, 2012 with a frequency of 15 minutes.
On Christmas Eve, the operations may be extended beyond the stipulated hours depending on commuter response.
Normal operations
However, normal operations will resume from 6 a.m. on January 1 with a frequency of 15 minutes till 8 a.m., and with a frequency of 10 minutes between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., the frequency will be 15 minutes.
