Not easy to get reservation in trains

With the Christmas and the New Year approaching fast, most of the trains have no reservations. There is no reservation in trains like Shatabdi, Shramshakti Express, Muri Exp, Jodhpur-Howrah Exp, Licchavi and Sangam Exp between December 20 and January 10. The passengers who had booked their tickets nearly a fortnight ago for travelling in the holiday period are a comfortable lot. Rush in trains increases during winter vacations. The winter vacations will commence in most of the schools after December 20. During this period, people like travelling with their children. If the mercury dips, the holidays in the school get extended. In order to make use of holidays, people try to book tickets to travel. With no seats available in trains, many passengers are now forced to cancel the programme of travelling. "There are no vacant berths in many trains. The waiting list has 200 names in Shatabdi Exp and above 300 in Licchavi Exp. Similar is the condition in Vikramshila Exp, Sangam Exp, Amrapali Exp etc," said a booking clerk. The condition was not much better in third and second AC class as well.
