WESTERN RAILWAY OBSERVED CIVIL DEFENCE DAY

"Western Railway's Civil Defence organization celebrated the All India Civil Defence Day o­n 7th December, 2011 at Western Railway's Sports ground at Mahalaxmi. Over 400 Civil Defence Volunteers from Mumbai, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar and Rajkot Division participated in the event.A spectacular show consisting of a Ceremonial parade and Demonstrations of Civil Defence activities like Fire Fighting, First Aid and handling the emergencies arising out of terrorist activities like bomb blasts etc in public domains like Railway stations, trains etc was presented by the Civil Defence Volunteers at the event.Shri Mahesh Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway presided over the function and addressed the gathering of large number of officers, staff and their families present at the event.The GM, also announced Group Cash award of Rs. 50,000/- to the Civil Defence personnels of Western Railway, Shri Aditya Kumar, Deputy General Manager & Controller of Civil Defence, Western Railway and Smt. Shobana Gupta, Senior Divisional Safety Officer & Divisional CD Officer Mumbai Division conducted the event."
