Mega block extended till Jan 30

The mega block by the Central Railways at the Pune railway station, which was slated to end on January 25, has been extended till January 30. The mega-block has been undertaken for apron rehabilitation work and extension of platform number six.“Owing to the cold wave in the city, the speed of manual work during night has slowed down. This has resulted in a delay of a few days. Though the construction work is complete, it is necessary that it is watered for a few days so as to strengthen the structure,” said Y K Singh, public relations officer, Railways.Owing to the extension, six local trains running between Pune and Lonavala will be terminated and start from Khadki and Shivajinagar stations. Similarly, passenger trains to Satara, Kolhapur, Solapur and Manmad will run from Ghorpadi and Hadapsar stations. The block had begun at midnight on January 16.
