CRIMINALS WHO STOLE MOBILE PHONES FROM PASSENGERS APPREHENDED

As per the directions of Shri S.R. Gandhi, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Chennai Division, a team of RPF personnel under the supervision ofShri I. Jones, Asst. Security Commissioner, Chennai Division conducted an incognito watch today (3.2.2012) to nab criminals involved in theft of high valued parcels like cardamom & readymade garments. Five criminals who tried to run away from Chennai Central were apprehended on suspicion and 24 mobile phones were found in their possession. They revealed that these mobile phones were stolen from passengers in running trains and bus stand. The RPF personnel raided the lodge in which the criminals stayed and 51 mobile phones were recovered. A case was registered against the 5 criminals and a total of 75 mobile phones worth `.5 lakhs were recovered from them.
