Double-decker train may run by March 15

The long wait for Jaipur-Delhi AC double-decker train may finally be over soon. The railway passengers could have a memorable Holi gift in the form of much-awaited train which was announced by the then railway minister Mamata Banerjee in 2011-12 rail budget.
North Western Railway (NWR) sources have confided that special double-decker coaches being made at rail coach factory in Kapurthala are nearly complete and could be handed over for commissioning by March 1. A highly-placed NWR official said once the special double-decker coaches are handed over to railways, the much-awaited train could start running between Delhi and Jaipur by March 15. In the recent past, both chairman railway board Vinay Mittal and NWR GM RC Agarwal had said that the Jaipur-Delhi double-decker will start running anytime before March 31.
When contacted in this regard, NWR official spokesman Lalit Bohra, while without spelling out exact day, said, “The double-decker will run before March 31.”
