ARRANGEMENTS BY NORTHERN RAILWAY TO IMPLEMENT NEW TATKAL BOOKING TIMINGS
The Ministry of Railways has further streamlined the delivery of tickets under Tatkal Scheme and the new amendment in the scheme will come into effect from tomorrow i.e. 10th July 2012 (Tuesday).Under the new amendment the booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10.00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present. For example, if a train is to depart from the originating station on the 2nd of the month, the Tatkal quota booking both through Internet (IRCTC Website) and reservation counters for that particular train shall open at 1000 hours on the 1st of the month.However, Tatkal tickets for the same day journey will be available from 8 AM till the preparation of charts for the train, since its booking had already commenced at 10 AM on the previous day.
In addition, it has also been decided that no authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC and RTSAs/RTAs will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets from 1000 hours to 1200 hours from counters as well as from Internet.
It is a paradigm shift in the procedures with the objective of staggering the load on the website and at the booking windows for the convenience of the passengers. The system shall be watched to streamline it further to ensure minimum inconvenience to the Public.
In order to implement the amendment Northern Railway has made following arrangements at the (PRS) Reservation Counters:-
BookingofnormalPRS ticketswillbeginfrom8.00 AMatall PRS countersasusual.
Tatkalticketswillbeissuedoneverycounteronly from10.00 a.m. onwards except for the same day journey till preparation of charts.
Theteabreak earlier availedbyPRS (Reservation Staff) stafffrom11:00 a.m to11:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.to11:30 a.m.willnowbeuniformlyavailedfrom 09:40 a.m. to09:55a.m. forallstaffworkingatcounters.
Theavailable15 minutestimeofteabreak by the staff willbeutilized tousherTatkalpassengerswaitinginqueueatthemaingate in group of 5intothehall andmakingqueues in frontofthecounters as is being presently done at 08.00 AM
EntryofanypassengersseekingTatkalticketwill notbeallowedinsidePRS hall before09:45 a.m except for Tatkal passengers for the same day journey.
ThequeueofTatkalpassengerswaitingatthemaingateforentryintoPRShall shallberegulatedexactlyaccordingtothesystembeingfollowedforSr. Citizens, Ladiesand Handicappedpassengers.Theirformswillbesignedoutsidethemain gate.Formsofrestofthepassengerswillbesignedinthehall.
CRSandcounterclerkswillensurecompleteandlegiblefillingofname,full address & telephone / mobile numbersonrequisitionformsandproductionof self attestedIdentitycardsbypassengers,failingwhichreservationshallbedenied.
AssistanceofadequateRPFstaffwillbearranged tomanagethecrowdinside andoutsidethePRScentres.
Allofficers,inspectorsandsupervisorsdeputedforthedutywillbepresent andwillgiveafeedbacktostreamlinetheabovesystemandextendtheirfull
