CR POSTS 18% INCREASE IN ORIGINATING EARNINGS
IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2012-13
Central Railway has carried 27.15 Million Tonnes of freight in the first half of 2012-13 (April to September) as compared to 25.93 million tonnes achieved during the same period in 2011-12. Major commodities carried were coal, cement, steel, fertilizers, petrol-oil-lubricants, onion and sugar, etc.
The originating earnings on account of the above loading during this period in 2012-13 (April to September) is Rs.4138 crore as compared Rs.3497.6 crore achieved in the year 2011-12 registering an increase of 18.3%.
