MINISTER OF STATE FOR RAILWAYS INAUGURATES CENTRAL ARMOURY AT RPF TRAINING INSTITUTE AND WITNESSES THE PASSING OUT PARADE OF RPF CONSTABLE RECRUITS AT KHARAGPUR

The Passing Out Parade of 104th Batch of RPF Constable Recruits was held at RPF Zonal Training Institute, Kharagpur today (25.03.2013).Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways graced the occasion as Chief Guest.Shri Chowdhury took salute from a smart contingent of 424 new Recruits, who took part in the passing out parade forming themselves into 12 platoons. Before inspecting the parade, the Hon’ble MOSR inaugurated the Central Armoury of the RPF Zonal Training Institute at Kharagpur.
Shri P.K. Mehta, Director General, RPF/Railway Board and Shri A.K. Verma, General Manager, South Eastern Railway were also present on the occasion and addressed the gathering.Earlier, Shri S.K. Ravivanshi, Sr. Security Commissioner-cum- Principal, Zonal RPF Training Institute, Kharagpurwelcomed the distinguished guests on the occasion.
Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, addressing the gathering said that the role of Railway Protection Force in respect of security and safety of the passengers is praiseworthy.Shri Chowdhury while addressing the new recruits who have passed out after the vigorous 7 ½ months training conducted by the Security Department of S.E.Railway, hoped that the new recruits would perform their duties with sincerity and devotion to maintain the law and order in the Railways especially in the field of passenger security. Sri Chowdhury traced the history of RPF in the Indian Railways and laid emphasis on the betterment of the Force. He announced that 10 % of the total recruits will be reserved for women. He also announced an award of 3 (three) lakhs for the parade.
Shri A.K. Verma, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, in his speech, mentioned about the glorious past and the different achievements of SER’s RPF.Shri Verma also said about the recent steps taken by S.E.Railway to enhance the security of the passengers.
Sri Vinayaga Murty N. has been adjudged – The Best Constable (Indoor) as well as Best Constable Over All (Indoor & Outdoor), while Sri Shailendra Kumar Rai has been adjudged – Best Constable (Outdoor).
