NEW RAILWAY HOSPITAL AT PERAMBUR; TEMPORARY STOPPAGE FOR EXPRESS TRAINS AT MELNARIYAPPANUR

A new Railway Hospital is being constructed at Perambur in Chennai.  The hospital is coming up in a campus measuring a little over 14 acres.

           The new Railway Hospital will have a separate OPD block and 6 IP blocks.These will be constructed in phases.Upon completion, the hospital will have 45 consulting rooms, 600 beds and 14 operation theatres.          

           Today, the ground floor of the OPD block was inaugurated by Smt. Vijaya Kanth, Financial Commissioner, Railways in the presence of Dr. P.S. Prasad, Director General, Railway Health Services, and Shri. Rakesh Misra, General Manager, Southern Railway.

            Dr. G. Narayanan,Additional GeneralManager, Southern Railway, Shri. S. Vijayakumaran, Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, Southern Railway and Dr. S. Ram Prakash, Chief Medical Director, Southern Railway and other higher railway officials graced the occasion by their presence.

           The hospital, complete in all aspects, is expected to be ready by March, 2016.

TEMPORARY STOPPAGE FOR EXPRESS TRAINS

AT MELNARIYAPPANUR


            In view of the feast at St. Antony’s Church, temporary stoppage of 2 minutes duration has been provided for express trains at Melnariyappanur, between Chinnasalem and Attur in Vriddhachalam – Salem section, as follows.                                                                                                        

          1) Train No.11063 / 11064 Chennai Egmore – Salem – Chennai Egmore express       trains will stop at Melnariyappanur from 11.06.2013 to 14.06.2013.

           2) Train No.16855 Puducherry – Mangalore weekly express will stop at      Melnariyappanur o­n 13.06.2013.
