Developers Finalized and Sites Handed over for Developing Multi-Functional Complexes for Providing Enhanced Passenger Facilities at Seven Railway Stations on SCR

Seven Multi-Functional Complexes (MFCs) have been awarded over South Central Railway for development by Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory authority for generation of non-tariff revenue and creation of assets for Indian Railways.
RLDA has so far fixed Developers and sites have been awarded to them for setting up MFCs at seven stations o­n SCR viz. Dharmavaram, Kacheguda, Karimnagar, Nellore, Nizamabad, Vijayawada and Zahirabad for an amount of Rs 22.34 crores. MFCs will provide multiple passenger facilities like shopping, food stalls/restaurants, book stalls, PCO booths, ATMs, medicines and variety stores, budget hotels, food plaza and parking spaces etc. to rail users at railway stations. These sites are being offered o­n 30-45 years lease through open bidding process to private sector.
In all, thirteen stations have been identified o­n SCR for development of MFCs, which include the seven stations mentioned above. Amongst the others, the MFCs at Hyderabad and Rajahmundry have already been constructed and leased out. The MFCs at Aurangabad and Guntur have been constructed and are ready for commercial utilization. The MFCs at Kurnool Town and Nanded are under process of tendering to finalize agencies for taking up development works.
